Description of Business Unit

The Bank of Ireland's Engineering Factory is a new and exciting business unit with the mandate to own full-stack technology development across several strategic platforms and products. We are forming a team of creative, likeminded technology enthusiasts who and have the skills and capabilities to deliver industry leading software solutions to meet the current and future needs of a market leading Digital Relationship Bank

Purpose of the Role

You will be responsible for establishing and maturing the Agile Management Office within the Data Factory, including PI Planning and execution and Demand & Pipeline Management. The role will support our transition to multi-disciplined release teams and help mature our overall Agile SAFe methodology within the Engineering Factory and more broadly across the Bank.

Key Accountabilities

The role of the Agile Management Office lead is to:

  • Structure and manage documentation, facilitate governance, and generate outcome based Agile reporting across the Data Factory
  • Maintaining and improving document frameworks
  • Reviewing critical artefacts and driving a clear and consistent approach to managing knowledge across the Engineering function
  • The periodic production of performance Scorecards, Kanban reports and resource tracking
  • Manage the PI Planning sessions as regularly scheduled events with the Agile Release Train Engineer to meet and align to a shared vision, features, planned roadmap, and identify cross-team dependencies
  • Manage the resource capacity planning and allocation and in conjunction with our resource partner its efficient allocation
  • Support Factory Leadership in the ongoing analysis and monitoring of finances and benefits, including the management of supplier invoices to ensure they are actively challenged and approved
  • Update and maintain Risk & Issue Logs, Action Logs, Decisions Log, and other applicable Registers
  • Support in Group Risk Control checks and testing
  • Support and maintain Agile PMO best practice, and audit and inspection-readiness standards
  • As a People Manager you will drive engagement and will be accountable for demonstrating and role modelling the Group values and behaviours through your people management and the way in which you deliver business goals

This job can be done anywhere in Ireland with the primary office location as Dublin to which travel will be required for in person teamwork. Exact frequency to be agreed with manager.

Essential Qualifications

  • Agile Project Management qualification
  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field

Essential Skills & Experience

AMO experience but at a minimum Project Management Office (PMO) experience within an Agile delivery model

  • Dynamic experience in portfolio management
  • Solid skills using the suite of Microsoft Office products
  • Proactive and flexible approach; ability to work effectively with multiple priorities in parallel
  • Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills, with strong customer focus
  • Ability to interpret and communicate technical information into business language
  • Continuous Improvement demeanour with ability to improve existing analysis and processes
  • Deep analytical and problem-solving skills
