This role is a joint role across Customer Analytics in Group Marketing and Global Markets in the Markets & Treasury Division. Customer Analytics is the central Analytics, Insights and Modelling team for Bank of Ireland. Global Markets is the leading treasury provider for Retail, Corporate & Institutional customers in Ireland with niche businesses in the UK and US.

By Co-Locating in Global Markets you will be immersed with the business and actively partner to design the Global Markets analytics strategy and execute to deliver on it. By leveraging one of the richest Irish datasets, you will help Global Markets gain a better understanding of our customers and drive growth. This is a high visibility role within the team and a great opportunity to make a difference to our customers and gain experience with senior stakeholders.

What is the Opportunity?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a high calibre individual with experience in Data Analytics who will be responsible for designing and implementing a data analytics strategy to deepen our understanding of our customers. This is a shared resource between Customer Analytics and Global Markets which will allow the individual to bring learnings from their understanding of the Group's data analytics functionality and capabilities to shape Global Market's data analytics and customer strategy.

Key Accountabilities

  • Model customer and market behaviour by applying expertise in quantitative analysis and data mining.
  • Provide insights and actionable recommendations on trends and trading patterns identified from data.
  • Segment the Global Markets customer base using relevant segmentation models.
  • Competitor analysis to gain a better understanding of competitive threats and market changes to support product and proposition design.
  • Implementation and design of data analytics strategy in Global Markets to support the development of data-led marketing campaigns, appropriate customer contact strategies, group-wide view of customers and providing business intelligence dashboards.

Essential Skills & Experience

A third level qualification in data science, data analytics or equivalent is preferable.

Essential Qualifications

  • 3 years Analytical Experience, Customer Analytics.
  • Experience of SAS, Teradataand/orother related environments.
  • Experience with web behavioural data and cross device journey analytics.
  • Data Visualisation Experience
  • Experience working with large data sets and Unstructured data
  • The ability to interpret analytical outcomes and frame them in a business / strategic context.
  • Communication and presentation skills and ability to work with Senior Stakeholders
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Commercial Acumen

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the development of approach and methodology for analytical analysis.
  • Develop or modify existing tools to perform analytical analysis.
  • Lead junior analysts in performing analytics.
  • Interrogate and interpret analytical results and outcomes.
