Division Description

Led by the recently appointed Chief Marketing Officer, we are creating Group Marketing function which will develop a strong brand for Bank of Ireland, shaping and delivering a differentiated position for the Bank in the markets in which we operate. This will enable us to shape and deliver on our purpose to enable customers, colleagues and communities to thrive and to build the National Champion Bank in Ireland. The Group Marketing function will be underpinned by the following strategic imperatives designed to transform the Bank of Ireland brand: Customer planning across business under one group brand strategy and agreed brand pillar priorities, Deep brand & customer insight, Consistent & compelling customer communication across all touchpoints, Data driven marketing, Customer experience insight & innovation design, Integrated Technology transformation, Robust Marketing spend effectiveness & governance.

This role is part of the Group Marketing function which is focused on supporting the strategic and revenue growth priorities of BOI Group.

Purpose of the Role

To drive our ambition of becoming the National Champion, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering our brand strategy and in helping to bring our new brand purpose to life. This role will work across the organisation in a number of key areas

Key Accountabilities

  • Support in the implementation of brand strategy and new brand platform, ensuring strong, consistent brand messaging across all customer & brand communications.
  • Working closely with colleagues throughout the business to maintain brand integrity across all marketing and company communications and take corrective action where necessary.
  • Support the creation of creative brand communications across all campaign channels to support brand and business objectives.
  • Build, maintain and optimise the relationships with key internal and external stakeholder (e.g. Brand Communications, Marketing Planning, Channels, Group Communications), to create and deliver a consistent brand across the bank;
  • Be committed to putting the customer at the heart of all marketing activities and utilise data-driven customer insights in shaping creative ideas and campaign development;
  • Measure brand campaign outcomes and monitor brand performance.
  • Manage budget and spend for relevant projects and deliver all activities within the agreed budget following the agreed approvals process.
  • Be an exemplar of the Group's values and ensure your role contributes to our purpose and strategic ambition.

What is the opportunity

An opportunity exists for a marketing professional with experience in developing and executing brand strategy, creating & maintaining brand integrity across all marketing initiatives and company communications along with proven ability in creating and executing creative customer focused campaigns in a large organisation.

Essential Qualifications

Third level qualification, ideally in a marketing or business related discipline;

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience within a similar role demonstrating developing and executing brand strategy, creating & maintaining brand integrity across all marketing initiatives and company communications along with proven ability to create and execute creative customer focused campaigns, in a large organisation.
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to maintain strong relationships with colleagues and external contacts whilst delivering compelling, well-structured arguments and articulated ideas.
  • Strong influencing and relationship building skills, with the capability to establish constructive and collaborative relationships, both internally and externally, and the flexibility to operate effectively in a matrix environment;
  • A highly motivated self-starter with a passion for creativity and innovation and the ability to deliver at pace and to a high standard;
