This role is based within UK Mortgages. The Business Architecture department focuses on supporting business design across UK and ROI mortgages.

The business architect will work closely with the business and IT functions to establish and maintain the target operating model. They will have oversight of all upcoming change and development to the core mortgage platforms, to ensure the TOM has the capability to support the UKM strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the UK Mortgages target operating model. Have oversight and understanding of the ROI operating model and architecture.
  • Work with the business design team to clearly articulate and document business requirements. Identify associated candidate bugs/improvements from the current backlog.
  • Manage ongoing relationship with business SMEs to ensure core understanding of business operation.
  • Implement design reviews and walk-throughs to communicate designs and validate proposed solutions. Utilising prototypes and wireframes where appropriate
  • Engage with user experience SMEs to incorporate usability and user interface needs when designing solutions.
  • Support the end users with training documentation as needed.
  • Have ultimate responsibility for the documented customer journey processes for all brand and distribution channels within UK Mortgages.
  • Effectively manage and lead employees to ensure optimal levels of performance and ensure that direct reports have goals set, regular performance reviews, coaching and constructive feedback throughout the year to maximise their effectiveness.
  • Develop talent pipeline and regularly assess resource capabilities to effectively manage talent and ensure business continuity.
  • Ensure the necessary controls are implemented, managed and clearly understood by employees with regard to Information Security, Data Protection Act (DPA), Anti Money Laundering (AML), Group Code of Conduct & Operational Risk.
  • Ensure full operational compliance and adherence to all Group policies and department procedures.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Have experience as a senior business analyst or architect, with a proven track record of delivering large scale changes and transformation
  • An understanding of formal business architecture methodologies
  • Have managed teams of people and can demonstrate people management skills
  • Have a proven track record of project/programme delivery
  • Be a confident user of spreadsheets/word processing/drawing and mapping software
  • Strong organisation & time management skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal and relationship management skills with an aptitude to work collaboratively with various stakeholders
  • Strong problem solving skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve key issues.
