BOI has developed an international niche market in the financial sector areas of portfolio management and acquisition finance in Ireland, UK and the U.S., supported by the sale of treasury products to commercial customers. It is critical that methods and procedures be developed, implemented and operated in a manner consistent with BOI's newly enhanced enterprise-wide Risk and Compliance Program ('the Program'). The Program imposes internal governance and controls. Under the Program's risk-based system, all BOI business units are required to manage the on-boarding of their customers with a heightened awareness of key risk indicators. Staff is required to scrutinize the underlying documents that support an account's opening against these key risk indicators to meet the expectations of several sets of bank regulators and auditors. This role requires developing knowledge of the Group's requirements, as well as the business unit's governance and control structure to allow the U.S. Branch to understand the "why" behind the "how" to apply risk indicators, as well as readily keep abreast of any changes in workflows or requirements. As this role is an integral part of the US Branch operations, it will require:
Working closely with Group Compliance & Regulatory Risk ('GCRR') personnel,
Working closely with Treasury teams and US Leveraged Acquisition Finance, (US LAF) teams
This role requires developing knowledge of the Group's requirements, as well as the business unit's governance and control structure to allow the U.S. Branch to understand the "why" behind the "how" to apply risk indicators, as well as readily keep abreast of any changes in workflows or requirements
This position will be responsible for the following essential duties for Corporate Banking in the US in accordance with the Program protocols as well as BOI's governance and compliance structures:
Managing and ensuring database integrity for all US LAF customer accounts according to BOI policies and protocols
Liaising with units to aid the preparation of all account opening documentation (including Know Your Customer ('KYC'), Anti Money Launder ('AML'), Customer Due Diligence ('CDD')) pursuant to The Group's account opening policies and procedures, and practices
Managing and maintaining KYC/AML file for US LAF Customers including Foreign Correspondent Account Recordkeeping and CDD pursuant to global BOI methodologies
Ensuring files and processes meet all compliance obligations including review and update of the CB Business Partnership Agreement, policies and procedures amendments for legislative changes
Undertaking the role of stakeholder of operational files for CB Customers
Maintaining accurate, complete, and current documentation consistent with BOI protocols and controls
Ensuring accurate monthly reports are written and maintained
Identifying upcoming legislative changes, and developing end-to end procedures to implement these
Ensuring new risks identified during the on-boarding process are documented and risk rated according to industry wide standards, and further documented in the overall Risk & Control Program set out by GCRR
Supporting the roll out of additional GCRR policies and procedures
Assist with day to day operational functions of the US Branch
This is a great opportunity for a new graduate to come in and learn the essentials of the US operating model
