The AA partnership team are a key constituent of the Bank of Ireland UK (BOIUK) Partnership Directorate. The partnership team manage our overall partnership, relationship and bespoke partnership governance framework with the AA. Through the development and delivery of the joint business plan the partnership team ensure that we serve customers brilliantly, deliver sustainable profits and transform the Bank.

The Partnership Lead is a key role in the successful management of the AA partnership. The role holder is responsible for managing the development and delivery of the joint partnership business plan, aligned with BOIUK strategic priorities, and leading the delivery of key partnership customer, commercial and change objectives.

The Partnership Lead optimises the partnership commercial, business and trading performance, leveraging the defined partnership governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the AA Partnership strategy development process in order to ensure that business has strategies in place to meet its mission and long term objectives.
  • Supporting the build and delivery of Strategic Initiatives and customer centric propositions to maximise value for the Partnership
  • Partner with AA counterparts in leading the development of a robust planning process, which embeds the partnership strategy and delivers a jointly agreed Annual Business Plan delivering the Bank's and AA's key objectives working closely with the Partnership Commercial team
  • Support the Head of AA Partnership in the management of key senior stakeholders, ensuring key successes are communicated effectively, and key challenges are articulated, understood and actioned appropriately
  • Work with the Partnership Support and Delivery team in leading/managing the partnership trading fora, working closely with Product Heads in BOIUK and AA counterparts, managing underperformance against plan, escalating to Head of Partnership as required to ensure remedial action is timely and effective
  • Working closely with Senior Governance Committees in AA and BOI UK to agree deliverables/objectives
  • Work in collaboration with stakeholders and engaging with the Customer Insight and Proposition team to drive out desired customer/ AA propositions.
  • Ensuring delivery across the AA is conducted in a customer focussed and compliant way working closely with and leveraging off the capability in the Partnership Service and Delivery team

Key skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in the financial services sector, preferably in a strategic role
  • Strong background and proven experience in both planning and programme management at a senior level, with demonstrable ability to develop robust business plans and execute effectively in a professional manner
  • Very high collaboration and partnering skills with ability to develop strong and trusting relationships internally and externally; confidence to challenge for mutual success
  • Proven experience in high performance management in a commercial environment
  • Highly developed communication & presentation skills with proven experience writing Executive-level papers
  • Decisive, strategic thinker
  • Minimum 5 GCSEs A-C grades including Maths and English
