Purpose of the Role:

The Business Manager role is critical in terms of drivingthe development of a high value and high quality lending book in the Small Business/Agri segment acrossCorkCity, collaborating as part of a highly effective team the role holder will as appropriatedrive and support SB&A growth.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Be a key leader within the Business Development Forum in respective region
  • Identify New to Bank and existing customer opportunities.
  • Support credit driven customer acquisition by providing credit expertise at selected customer meetings.
  • Complete and submit quality lending applications to GCO Underwriting for new and existing SME and Agri customers.
  • Support relevant Customer, Colleague and Community Events as part of the Group strategy and County Plan.
  • Develop relationships with current and New to Bank customers and create a pipeline of new business from these connections (through BDF).
  • Support building Credit Capability across the county through on-the-job credit skills development of colleagues.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 passes (minimum Grade D) in Ordinary Level Leaving Certificate subjects, including Maths and English, or equivalent or superseding qualification.
  • MCC is a requirement for the role therfor QFA is the required qualification.
  • Diploma in SME Credit or commitment to undertake on appointment in role.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Self-Starter with High Initiative.
  • Strong credit skills and experience in extending credit/underwriting, deal structuring and ability to balance risk and returns when making credit application recommendations.
  • High energy/results focused team player - role holder will be key in demonstrating the Bank's credit appetite across the county to customers/prospects/key business influencers.
  • Strong understanding of credit risks & business risks across sectors.
  • Sound business acumen and understanding of SME businesses and key sectors.
  • Good relationship skills, ability to build trust with clients and act as a credible representative of the Bank.
  • Relevant credit risk management experience.
