Purpose of the Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for administration of accounts, which will involve communicating with customers by telephone, letter, personal interview, monitoring account performance and applying agreed solutions with customers whilst adhering to regulatory requirements. This will include interaction with third party agents, auction houses, solicitors and court officials. In addition the successful applicant will be offered the opportunity to apply for training in other areas of the business (Customer Service, Compliance, New Business etc).

Key Accountabilities

  • To ensure effective and corrective action is taken on all accounts in accordance with company procedure and Group Compliance Policy
  • To handle customer queries as they arise by telephone, correspondence, or personal interview
  • To assess cases, prepare all necessary documentation and recommend for further action
  • To action outgoing calls by telephone to customers.
  • To provide a high level of service to customers, colleagues, and intermediaries
  • To maintain and accurately update data bases and spreadsheets
  • To represent the Company at Court, if required
  • Be flexible in relation to after hours working and to provide cover in other areas, as and when required
  • Perform other duties as required.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in administration Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (including Word and Excel)
  • Previous administration experience.
  • Proven evidence of good written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines Flexibility and adaptability with regard to work and working hours.

Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in credit control / collection
  • Knowledge of Consumer Credit Act, FCA Regulations and Lending Standard Code, Data Protection & Money Laundering Procedures
  • Effective negotiating skills 3. Good awareness / keen
