The Risk Measurement & Strategy Team provides comprehensive support in the areas of risk based pricing and credit risk measurement. This support includes the provision of high quality analysis of customer level capital and risk measurement information; strategic and transaction level pricing support and the development, application and monitoring of Basel/CRD compliant Credit Risk Models.

This exciting role in Corporate Banking (CB) will provide the successful candidate with a unique career opportunity to interact with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders, and develop valuable risk measurement and analytic skills. He/she will be required to work primarily with the Senior Manager in Strategic Credit and Capital Information on various capital and credit information initiatives. The successful candidate will also be expected to assist the Model Management Function arm of the Team on risk rating model and regulatory tasks.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Senior Manager, Strategic Credit and Capital Information to ensure that the production and analysis required for capital and credit information initiatives are delivered in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist with the resolution of data and pricing queries raised by Group and CB Business Teams.
  • Assist the Model Management Function with Performance Monitoring analysis; Regulatory queries, and also in the preparation of Periodic Reports for key stakeholders, including Model Owners, Risk Strategy Analysis & Reporting, etc.
  • Co-ordinate and help prepare the relevant Corporate Banking personnel for Quarterly Performance Monitoring reviews, Model Validation Expert Panels, etc.
  • Keep abreast of evolving credit risk standards and modelling techniques, particularly developments in relation to Basel 3 and Capital Requirements Directives.
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with Business stakeholders, by adapting your own approach to create a `win-win` situation.

Essential Qualifications

  • Relevant third level degree, ideally within business, accounting or data analytics
  • High level of computer literacy particularly with regard to data analysis & presentation. An advanced working knowledge of Excel is essential.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong risk analysis acumen, with a challenging mind-set and the ability to interpret data; spot trends/gaps/inconsistencies contained therein.
  • Relevant banking experience including a good level of credit risk awareness.
  • Effective decision making and communication skills - and the ability to quickly establish professional credibility and build effective relationships at all levels of the organisation.
  • Delivery focused and the ability to multi-task and work on own initiative to meet challenging deadlines.

Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of credit risk metrics and credit management processes.
  • Strong Microsoft office and systems experience.
  • Knowledge of BIPS, ACBS and Group Payments systems.
