Business Banking Client Services (BBCS) is responsible for the delivery of excellent service and support to Bank of Ireland Business Banking Relationship Managers and their portfolio of business customers in the Mid-Market Segment. BBCS is an evolving dynamic team within Group Operations & Payments and an opportunity has now arisen for a Manager to lead a Regional Team providing loan fulfilment and pipeline management to Business Banking Mid-Market clients.

The role is suited to someone with Business Banking experience and offers an excellent opportunity for a person with energy, drive and commitment to excel in a newly established area.

  • The Case Manager will have responsibility for the delivery of a market-leading Loan Fulfilment & Pipeline Management service experience to Business Banking Customers and Business Banking Relationship Managers within Bank of Ireland Group. The role will predominantly focus on the end-to-end ownership and management of business banking customer related Loan Fulfilment & Pipeline Management activities. This will be done remotely from a centralised team based in the Operations Centre in Cabinteely, in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements.
  • Core to the role of the Case Manager is driving the lending pipeline through the loan drawdown process on behalf of each Relationship Manager within a Region, including managing associated documentation and security issues in conjunction with Security Operations, dealing directly with customers and their advisors throughout the process.
  • In conjunction with the Business Banking Relationship Manager and Operations management, the Case Manager will drive continuous improvement in performance both within the assigned customer portfolio(s) and across the portfolio of Business Banking relationship managed customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Case Manager will be responsible for the delivery of excellent service and support to Relationship Managers and their business customers.
  • Maintain effective oversight of the status of each Loan Fulfilment case and create and sustain an ongoing, effective, proactive dialogue with individual Relationship Managers in relation to their customers, highlighting applications where issues are apparent, proposing acceptable solutions and workarounds.
  • Drive and take ownership for drawing down all facilities on behald=f of the RM-including complex loans - e.g Qualifications on Title, Valuations, Drawdowns .
  • General administration such as setting up of standing orders. Vigorously manage and oversee all Loan Fulfilment and associated requests received from the portfolio of Business customers, actioning all requests within agreed Service times and to agreed Service Standards
  • Completion of daily credit reports, acting on Relationship Manager instructions
  • Update the tracking system ensuring all case details are input in an accurate, timely and complete manner to ensure the accuracy of the associated MI outputs
  • Examine/analyse credit/security/legal issues that emerge affecting loan drawdowns, consulting with internal and external supports, and the Relationship Manager concerned, if appropriate, proposing options and solutions
  • Work closely with the other Case Managers and the Regional Team Leads to identify initiatives and implement in a timely manner
  • Continually monitor, progress, and as necessary, escalate the resolution of outstanding issues in line with agreed Service Frameworks, proposing solutions and workarounds as required.
  • Ensure appropriate system of policies, internal controls, quality assurance , standards and procedures are in place to manage risk and ensure consistency of approach
  • Provide the necessary MIS/Key Performance Indicators on the various stages of the Loan Fulfilment process as required and support the Regional Team Lead in planning the capacity planning for the Region

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 passes in the Leaving Certificate including Maths & English or equivilant

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience in Business Banking or frontline lending/support role, or alternatively in a credit or securities area supporting Business Banking
  • Strong financial statements analysis skills, with proven aptitude in analysing management information, unaudited and audited accounts
  • Knowledge of Business Banking products and familiarity with core banking systems/applications.
  • A good knowledge of Risk Management (account opening, health and safety, fraud prevention, money laundering)
  • Strong customer focus and commercial awareness
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including communication, influencing and presentation skills (written and verbal).
  • Proven problem solver
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver on demanding targets
  • Quality conscious and improvements driven
  • Proficient in use of internal computer systems including Credit Framework, BIPS, Servicelink
