The Change Delivery Director:

Is the primary point of contact for all things Change and Run (supported by colleagues from IT)

Is accountable for working with the Business to construct and manage the change demand portfolio

Manages prioritisation of demand within and across the portfolio

Ensures the integrity of estimates provided to the Business

Manages and reports on forecasting and financials for Change

€Is accountable for the successful translation of business requirements through delivery of change and successful handover to run

Ensures IT and Change delivers quality services (Change and Run) that support Business Strategy and goals

Drive the business Enterprise Architecture definition and strategy in line with the EA function

Is responsible for assuring integrity of the high-level solution ownership together with IT

Key Accountabilities:

  • To lead and manage the definition and delivery of the Portfolio of demand and drive and deliver effective Supply/Demand plans. Supply will managed by Head of PMO.
  • To deliver within the GTAC Target Operating Model
  • To manage the overall portfolio plans and maintain a rolling plan of activities through a strict change control and prioritisation framework which ensures that the business plan is met.
  • To manage the delivery of the overall Portfolio ensuring that all change demand is shaped, estimated, planned, resourced, and optimised to ensure the delivery of the business strategy, plans and associated outcomes.
  • To manage multi-disciplined, cross-functional/business teams
  • To exercise proactive, commercial and rigorous risk management & control of the portfolio
  • To maintain partnerships with key approved initiative Sponsors including execution of stakeholder Communications re delivery progress to plan.
  • To provide proactive forecasts of future capability requirements
  • To maintain a strong relationship with executive and senior stakeholders throughout the group to ensure that we are best placed to meet their business plans and associated business outcomes.
  • To be the focal point for all appropriate management information in respect of the change portfolio, supply/demand plans and run service reporting.
  • To ensure effective risk management processes and controls are in place at all times and appropriate measures implemented to ensure compliance with relevant Bank Policies
  • The Change Delivery Director is accountable for delivering the end to end Change portfolio for the designated business that underpins the business strategy of the Bank, from inception to delivery. In undertaking this role he/she ensures that effective sponsorship, leadership, transformation strategy, governance, methodologies, processes, quality controls and capabilities are in place to support timely delivery to quality.
  • This Change Delivery Director is responsible for ensuring that the benefits identified (that effect a return on investment through Change) are realised.
  • The Change Delivery Director reports to Steering Committees regularly on progress and ensures appropriate measures and interventions are taken where deviations to delivery are identified, supporting programmes to mitigate delivery risks, address strategic issues and support the Business identifying operational risks and issues, in addition to ensuring appropriate and challenge of the Business in its accountabilities.
  • Ensures that teams utilise the agreed methodology and processes and provide quality inputs in accordance with agreed timescales
  • The Change Delivery Director is a role model for the behaviours and values that underpin the organisation and reinforces their importance in interactions at all levels in the organisation.
  • The Change Delivery Director delivers within the budget allocated by the Head of Change and Roadmap.
  • Engages with 3rd parties, allowing integration and promoting and supporting sourcing objectives (such as greater offshoring).
  • Externally this individual will be responsible for promoting the Bank as strategic enabler of change, promoting the Bank's capability and leveraging its learning and capability in managing change at appropriate fora.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • IT Vision, Strategy and Planning - development of strategy and plans suitable for IT Transformation and portfolio planning,
  • Demand portfolio planning and management
  • People Management - leadership and management skills, influencing and relationship building
  • Financial Management - financial planning and budget management skills.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience developing business cases, programme plans, managing multi-million EUR programme budgets and implementation strategies.
  • Business Understanding - Understanding of the Banking market or a broad base of experience in the financial services arena, understanding of the differing needs of our end customers.
  • Stakeholder Management - Effective management of internal and external stakeholder interests across a complex organisational structure, including partnerships.
  • IT Industry best practice - Programme/Project Management, Systems Development Lifecycle, Service provision
  • Supplier Management - integration of supplier in the end to end delivery process
  • Risk management - understanding of the delivery risks faced by the function and the controls in place to manage & mitigate these risks.
  • Managing large IT development functions in a complex Business environment, including leading and influencing substantial numbers of non-direct reports.
  • Managing multi-disciplinary teams, including many specialists in a matrix managed organisation structure
  • Leading and influencing substantial numbers of non direct reports and making difficult and challenging priority decisions and of negotiating across senior business managers
  • Working in collaboration with business partners and suppliers developing and delivering change agendas
  • Prioritising and making difficult and challenging decisions and of negotiating with senior business managers
  • Working with the Business to develop medium-term plans to achieve the Business objectives in line with Business strategy
  • Leading multi-function, multi-locational transformation programmes, of high complexity and strategic import.
  • Strategic consulting skills coupled with significant experience developing and implementing transformational change
  • Leadership excellence, combined with highly tuned interpersonal, influencing and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills and a deep understanding of how businesses work. Strong financial acumen and commercial awareness.
  • Creative thinking and problem analysis.
  • Credibility and confidence working at most senior levels in the organisation; including C-suite executives.
  • Strong collaboration with other Change Delivery Directors and the Head of PMO
