The Bank of Ireland Group has formed a programme team responsible for transitioning the Bank from its legacy technical infrastructure to a new, integrated real time platform

Purpose of the role:

The Correspondence Technical Platform Owner will mature the delivery capability for all newly provisioned correspondence capabilities within Bank of Ireland.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Bridge the gap between solution architecture, detailed technical design and technical delivery of solutions on the T24 UXP Platform.
  • Act as a technical reference for design, development, testing and deployment knowledge.
  • Establish internal T24 UXP delivery capability for Bank of Ireland while maintaining a good balance with our delivery partners.
  • Manage vendor relationships insofar as technical delivery through the Software Development Lifecycle is concerned:
  • Ensure that functional and non-functional quality criteria are documented, understood and adhered to.
    • Detailed analysis and remediation of performance characteristics during and after a performance test - amongst other similar non-functional engineering topics.
  • Ensure that integration patterns from upstream systems and into downstream systems are well understood and thoroughly built and tested.
  • Deep expertise in contemporary software development processes such as Test Driven Development, Feature Toggling, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery etc.
  • Evolving the technology stack with in collaboration with our partners to rapid deployment and high availability
  • Ensure that service introduction and operational requirements are clearly understood and documented. Where necessary support the operations teams with expertise to support T24 in production environments.
  • Influence, evolve and mature the broader IT Operating Model regarding plan, change and run activities to ensure an efficient and effective omni-channel platform for BOI into the future.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on the exciting T24 transformation programme and lead a team.

Essential Qualifications:

Leaving certificate - minimum of 5 passes (grade D or above) at Ordinary Level, which must includeEnglish and Maths, or equivalent or superseding qualification.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in the IT domain specifically in Architecture and Development management.
  • Experience of Change and technical leadership on large transformational programmes -Core banking implementation experience is of particular importance
  • Deep technical expertise in the following areas:
    • Pitney Bowes
    • Temenos Frameworks (Data Lifecycle Management, Design Framework and Integration Framework).
    • Integration frameworks and paradigms i.e. Service Oriented Architectures and Microservices.
    • Performance and non-functional engineering expertise through the software stack from the systems of engagement to systems of record.
  • Strong Leadership and People Management Experience.
  • Strong Risk and Compliance Focus with an understanding IT Business Continuity best practices.
  • Excellent stakeholder a management experience and Vendor management experience.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3rdlevel degree in a relevant discipline
