Description of business unit

Group Information Security (GIS) is a diverse, collaborative team with multiple skillsets. With global cyber threats constantly evolving, the team is critical to protecting one of the Group's most important and valuable assets: Information.

GIS not only protect the security of the Bank but also enable colleagues to develop secure ways of working and to help them manage information security risk.

Purpose of the Role

To help drive the cyber engagement strategy and engage / collaborate with business units across the Group, providing technical security knowledge and guidance. This is a combined technical and people-focused role.

Key Accountabilities

  • Work closely with the Head of Cyber Engagement in the delivery of the cyber engagement strategy.
  • Assist business areas with the management of cybersecurity related issues, while acting as conduit into security operations and security architecture/strategy teams.
  • Use a collaborative approach to help find security solutions and controls to mitigate identified risks, gaps or issues.
  • Advise business areas on potential security improvements to systems and apps; support them in secure deployments of new technologies.
  • Build internal stakeholder relationships, socialising the security agenda Group wide and across all levels.
  • Maintain an awareness of security news/emerging threats and developments in industry standards.

Essential Qualifications

CISSP, CISM, CISA or other information security credential.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Ability and experience communicating security related concepts to technical and non-technical audiences at all levels of the organisation.
  • Information security knowledge of key threats and technical solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of Infrastructure and technology platforms, application development methodologies and information risk principles and tooling.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a high degree of initiative.
