Description of Business Unit

Our growing and exciting Data Factory team provide engineering services across key technology platforms that underpin the Group's data architecture and data supply chains. We deliver Digital, Customer, Regulatory and other change initiatives that drive the Group's transformation agenda. We have fully embraced new ways of working such as scaled agile, DevOps and design thinking in a highly collaborative team environment.

What we do

The Bank's Data Factory provides critical data integration and engineering services to support the Bank's change programme of initiatives. The factory operates a 'one team' culture delivering through cross-functional squads.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Data Analyst to join a dynamic and ambitious team and be a driving force delivering some of the biggest and high-profile projects across BOI Group.

Please note you must live in the jurisdiction for the business to which you are contracted.

This job can be done anywhere in ROI with the primary office location as Dublin to which travel will be required for in person collaboration. Exact frequency to be agreed with manager.

Key Accountabilities

  • Reviewing requirements and Integrated Data Layer (IDL) modelling and clarify any gaps with Modelling team, Business or Product Owners as needed
  • Engaging with source system SMEs and Business to better understand the system & requirements as required
  • Documenting data sourcing and mappings of source systems to IDL targets (TFS documentation) via meetings or workshops with SMEs
  • Producing Bank data source mapping to the Integrated Data Layer (IDL) and Access Layer
  • Completing source system data profiling related with source mapping to meet requirements
  • Ensuring all mappings meet the data requirement and align across systems
  • Becoming an SME on Bank Reference Data (REFD), source system data and data available within the EDW
  • Supporting the resolution of functional and test queries that arise from downstream teams which goes from EDW development teams to Programme test teams
  • Communicating complex technical concepts effectively with business stakeholders in a solution-focused manner
  • Adherence to agile principles and ceremonies
  • Work collaboratively and self-organise to complete all relevant training, work execution and proactively request support from
  • Supporting Solution Architects in high level solution design

Essential Experience

  • Significantworking experience as a Data Analyst in a full time role
  • Experienced data analyst for data warehouse projects and programmes working in complex, multi-vendor change delivery organisations
  • A good understanding of EDW architectures
  • Experience in SQL
  • Scrum / Kanban and SAFe delivery experience
  • Experience in modern engineering practices and technologies

Essential Skills

  • Continuous improvement and innovative mind-set
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet demanding timelines

Nice to have

  • Financial services experience would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of Informatica and Teradata would be beneficial
