As customer expectations grow and there is an increasing demand for personalised customer experiences, there is a growing demand on the Customer Analytics team to enable this personalised experience. The Customers Analytics department is a growing area within Bank of Ireland and is responsible for actionable customer insights, predictive modelling and marketing optimisation. There is a major opportunity to leverage the Bank`s data to deliver a more personalised customer experience and transform the organisation to become more data driven.

The purpose of the role is to use your advanced analytics/data science skills to understand our customer`s needs and behaviours to enable the Bank to provide an enhanced customer experience. This will involve analysis large volumes of structured, semi-structured and un-structured data to form recommendations that benifit our customers and deliver commerical outcomes.

  • Develop analytical models to understand the needs and behaviours of our customers and provide recommendations to deliver improved customer experiences and commercial outcomes.
  • Analyse customer behaviour across device and channel and look for opportunities to improve processes or support customers through their unique journeys.
  • Convert the insights from models into actions for marketing and business stakeholders to implement.
  • Design experiments (test vs. control, multivariate) to test whether particular activities deliver the expected return.
  • Analyse data using statistical tools and techniques to improve business processes, better serve our customers, design new products and support better decision making.
  • Bring a passion for acquiring data and using data to improve the performance of the organisation and the experience our customers receive.
  • A passion for learning about Marketing and Customer Analytics techniques.
  • A strong analytical background coupled with an ability to relate results to the business and form recommendations that deliver commercial outcomes.
  • Have experience in supporting the development of key strategic analytics projects (supervised and un-supervised learning) delivering continuous enhancements to the analytics processes.
  • Leverage exceptional attention to detail and statistical knowledge to build accurate and scalable datasets and analysis as well as deliver impactful results and insights.
  • An individual who is excited to learn and test new toolsets and someone who keeps in touch with emerging trends in data and analytics.
  • MSc or PhD in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Analytics or equivalent quantitative field.
  • At least 2 years relevant analytics/data science experience.
  • Experience in delivering measurable value from advanced analytics.
  • Experience in supervised and un-supervised machine learning techniques.
  • Proven experience in the statistical analysis and the modelling of this data to derive insights with knowledge of hypothesis testing and experiment design.
  • Data retrieval and manipulation experience: SQL as well as R, Python or SAS for analysis.
  • Experience in wrangling data from internal and external sources.
  • Proven track record in designing and implementing successful production grade models.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with colleagues from different disciplines across business and technical functions. Exceptional communication skills.
