Description of business unit

The Decision Modelling team has responsibility for developing Operational Models & Strategies across all Retail portfolios (inc. SB&A) in both jurisdictions. There is significant focus on updating and optimising the Group`s decisioning capability in support of the business agenda within ROI and UK, and this role is essential to ensure there are sufficient resources to support this agenda.

Purpose of the Role

We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Analyst to join our Unsecured Modelling Team in Bristol, offering an opportunity to work on a wide and varied range of portfolios (Credit Cards, Loans and Overdrafts) across two jurisdictions (RoI and UK). The successfull applicant will be working across all stages of the model lifecycle, from scoping to model implementation, and will be reporting into an experienced Lead Analyst

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the scoping, design, development, validation and implementation of new decisioning models & strategies (e.g. application scorecards and associated cut-offs)
  • Assist in the remediation of existing decisioning models and strategies where there are identified areas for improvement
  • Quantify the impact of policy, product, economic and regulatory changes on models & strategies
  • Engage withBusiness & Credit representatives throughout the development process & ensure optimal understanding and use of the models
  • Production of accurate, timely and relevant ad-hoc analytics relating to models and strategies
  • Deputise for Lead Analyst in their absence

Essential Qualifications

Degree in a STEM subject, or one with a statistical, mathematical or numerical focus

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong statistical background, with knowledge of regression based models
  • Good planning, organisational and time management skills
  • Good communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to an audience with a range of technical backgrounds
  • Highly organised, enthused and energetic - with drive and motivation to achieve agreed goals
  • Strong MS Office Skills
