The Dublin City Business Banking Team focuses on building relationship with, and supporting the growth ambitions of Mid-Tier and Scaling Companies. The Team works across all Sector with a particular focus on Professional Services, Property, Healthcare, Retail Convenience & Hotels/Hospitality companies. The Team implements a 'trusted advisor' approach in building sustainable, customer focused relationships with our existing and target companies.

Purpose of the Role:

The Construction & Development Finance, Business Relationship Manager (BRM) adds value to existing and prospective construction & development finance business customers with TGE up to c€5m, through relationship management, business development, credit & risk management oversight to both existing and prospective customers. The Construction & Development Finance BRM will take a structured approach to strategic target markets, heavily supported by sector & business development experts to progress Bank of Ireland Group ambitions in this key industry sector.

The Opportunity:

A vacancy has arisen for an ambitious colleague to join theCollege GreenBusiness Banking team as Business Relationship Manager; acting as lead Development Finance contact point.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Achieve Business Growth Expectations (new business lending, leasing and day to day banking requirements) through the development of the Development Finance portfolio from existing and new to bank customers
  • Maximise opportunities for Mortgage penetration on new housing developments
  • Active Management of the Risk on the Development Finance Loan Book ensuring credit standards are maintained, project oversight closely reviewed & achievement of satisfactory portfolio reviews from CQM and GCR
  • Conduct Proactive Portfolio Management with wider colleagues in Business Banking, close working relationship with Head of Development Finance (Business Banking)and across other Bank units including Mortgages and Real Estate Advisory Unit & Business Banking Credit.
  • Support wider retail bank teams in achieving local market goals and furthering local market development

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 passes (minimum Grade D) in Ordinary Level Leaving Certificate subjects, including Maths and English, or equivalent or superseding qualification
  • MCC Requirements apply to this role.
  • QFA is the required qualification.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Business & Commercial Acumen:Demonstrate strong business and commercial acumen with financial literacy/ demonstrable knowledge of property & financial markets. Experienced with a track record in Real Estate Finance.
  • Credibility & Judgement:. Will be able to display listening skills, objectivity, and ability to articulate proposition & rationale to wider members of the local management team and sector Head, Business Banking.
  • Relationship Builder:Capacity to build & maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers, third party business influencers and introducers. Key to the role is to engage with key internal partners across the wider Bank of Ireland Group.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage workflow, to display energy & drive and to manage multiple demands under time constraints.
  • Communication & Professionalism:Very strong communication, negotiation, & influencing skills. Ability to work and co-ordinate with internal organisation (e.g Credit, GCR, Mortgages, Business Banking Sectors)

Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • A 3rd level qualification in Commerce/Finance or an appropriate professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, AITI, MBA).
