Division Description

Led by the recently appointed Chief Marketing Officer, we are creating Group Marketing function which will develop a strong brand for Bank of Ireland, shaping and delivering a differentiated position for the Bank in the markets in which we operate. This will enable us to shape and deliver on our purpose to enable customers, colleagues and communities to thrive and to build the National Champion Bank in Ireland. The Group Marketing function will be underpinned by the following strategic imperatives designed to transform the Bank of Ireland brand: Customer planning across business under one group brand strategy and agreed brand pillar priorities, Deep brand & customer insight, Consistent & compelling customer communication across all touchpoints, Data driven marketing, Customer experience insight & innovation design, Integrated Technology transformation, Robust Marketing spend effectiveness & governance.

Purpose of the Role

As the Digital Content Specialist, you will be responsible for taking consumer-targeted digital content from concept through to publication. The role will include generating strategies for the creation and scheduling of meaningful content deployment, driving quality traffic to our suite of digital platforms, and encouraging awareness of and engagement with our products. Content optimisation for both search and customer journey is a key function of the role.

Key Accountabilities

  • Using social listening tools to develop, implement and manage clever and appealing marketing content in line with inbound and outbound marketing strategies that optimise website and online content to attract visitors and convert them to leads.
  • Work with the sponsorship team to build content to drive brand engagement and according to brand KPIs
  • Help define the company's overall communications strategy, incorporating key industry and digital insights to position the Bank of Ireland as a thought leader in banking and financial services.
  • Support the development and adherence to style guidelines, UX principles, processes and established standards for quality, scope and usability content.
  • Install and help with the creation of optimum customer-facing content experience that marry the business goals with the user tasks.
  • Work with the SEO specialist across a number of key terms and ensuring the creation of a plan for increased ranking and execution. Advising on and following SEO/SEM based content standards, such as style guides.
  • Manage and support third party content and communications agencies.
  • Supporting and work with key internal stakeholders as well as the marketing team to generate and optimise content for online sales journeys and service journeys.
  • Maximize brand awareness through thought leadership articles, blog posts, case studies and whitepapers.
  • Optimise conversions through ensuring an excellent user experience

What is the opportunity

Using compelling content marketing techniques to drive brand engagement and build social media advocacy and commercial objectives. You will work closely with the brand team to build the brand, tell the story and will have clear measures of success around this.

Essential Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree (Business, marketing, Communication, Media or Journalism preferred)

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years' experience creating and managing content
  • Keen interest in Financial sector including a focus on emerging digital trends
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing
  • Strong interpersonal & exceptional communication skills essential
  • Ability to follow strict processes, multi-task, and juggle competing priorities, while delivering content on tight timelines
