Purpose of the Role

The purpose of this role is to ensure the delivery of high quality environment coordination and scheduling management solutions and capabilities across the group.

Key Accountabilities

Define and track on-prem & cloud non-prod environments list (both Infrastructure & Software) in the estate.

  • End to end responsibility for all aspects of the test & dev environments inventory, scheduling, billing and communication with projects.
  • Point of contact for all environment booking and allocation.
  • Coordinate and maintain environment usage across multiple programs and platforms by working with other internal and external colleagues/teams to plan when environments will be utilised and support any conflicts whilst also ensuring release schedules are adhered to.
  • Communicate test and dev environment availability to project management, test and dev leads across the bank.
  • Define billing process and implement across the group.
  • Produce the Test and Dev usage reports to all key stakeholders in the bank.
  • Work within the operational framework to provide assistance with operations of the test and dev environments.
  • Ensure environments documented and procedures to facilitate application installs ready for handover to operational teams.
  • Providing financial analysis, including being able to contextualise financial data into business activities and conclusions.
  • Owning the identification and escalation of any budgetary related risks, issues and opportunities to portfolio/function as appropriate.
  • Analyse and predict trends and develop long-range plans designed to maintain cost effectiveness and competitiveness of the bank's IT infrastructure.

Essential Skills & Experience

The IT EMS inventory & coordination lead is a level-3 role requiring skills and experience in:

  • Strong knowledge of technology infrastructure and services as well as working experience in Agile, Waterfall and DevOps environment.
  • 5+ years technical project managing and provisioning of environments
  • Experience managing teams financial and budgetary requirements.
  • Strong IT skills/understanding, including experiencing working with information security, integrated platforms and infrastructure.
  • Ability to influence best practices and governance for test and dev environments and release/deployment.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with ability to present complex ideas in clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical groups.
  • Developing and tracking a detailed environment plan across multiple platforms.
  • Maintaining system documentation and supporting releases with the required project requirements.
  • Work with respective 3rd party suppliers and software vendors to implement systems, upgrades and embed changes.
  • Experience interacting at with technology and business in influencing management Test Environment.
  • Able to produce effective reports to senior stakeholders in the bank.
  • Good finance/budget management skills
