Group Technology & Customer Solutions (GTCS) comprises of Group IT & Procurement, Group Change, Group Portfolio Office, Group Payments, Business Continuity and GTCS Risk Management, Group Data Office, Group Information Security, GTCS Strategy & Transformation and Enterprise Transformation Office (ETO).

Purpose of the Role

To optimally architect and align the SAP IT ecosystem and solution with business strategies and outcomes, guide programme execution, optimise technology investment and influence business strategies through the lens of being commercially and technically executable.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage the entire architecture lifecycle of the organisations SAP ecosystem (on premise, cloud, hybrid)
  • Set the overall SAP strategic direction
  • Analyse the current state and work with functional teams to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities - improving business processes, growing capability, reducing time and cost, growing overall efficiency
  • Build and keep updated the SAP ecosystem roadmaps
  • Build investment business cases to support the delivery of foundational roadmap capabilities
  • Work with other architects (business, EA and solution) to ensure that the SAP ecosystem fits to the broader organisation architecture and supports the vital business outcomes
  • Collaboratively partner with application delivery and implementation partners to align solution architectures with the overall SAP roadmap and to accommodate specific project needs
  • Align SAP governance activities to ensure organisation EA compliance
  • Keep abreast of SAP, broader technology industry and market trends and ensure appropriate elements are incorporated into organisational and technology direction
  • Manage relationships with SAP ecosystem vendors and incorporate vendor roadmaps into overall organisation SAP strategic direction

Technical Knowledge

  • A minimum of 15 years' experience working predominantly in engineering and architecture roles within SAP environments
  • Proven ability in architecting core SAP solutions:
  • SAP ECC, SAP Business Suite, SAP BO/BW, SAP HANA, SAP S/4 HANA, SAP NetWeaver, SAP PI, SAP PO, SAP Cloud Platform, SAP CPI, SAP MDM, SAP Fiori, SAP Solution Manager, SAP IAM
  • Strong integration experience using SOAP, REST and DATA services
  • Additional experience in SAP SuccessFactors advantageous
  • Technology experience in other domains such as Java, Microsoft, IBM and Oracle
