An opportunity has arisen for an Event Manager to join the Bank of Ireland Dublin North Team. Tasks will include responsibility and ownership of the County events planner and engaging and supporting the Community Enterprise Leads to host successful Enterprise Towns. Supporting the County to host Enterprise Weeks that fit the local market and support business customers to thrive. This can include making connections, running events, attending other events, research, marketingand much more.

The successful candidate will work closely with key stakeholders such as County Manager, County Team colleagues and other Events Managers in order to support our purpose of enabling customers, colleagues and communities to thrive.


  • You are a self-starter. You can work independently to get things done. You can project manage and event manage without much hands-on support. You have a proven track record as a problem solver

  • Liaising with attendees, suppliers, colleagues on a regular basis
  • Managing registrations, guest lists, invitations, badges etc.
  • Researching venue spaces for future events
  • Booking meeting rooms, IT/AV, organise travel, couriers and attend various meetings
  • Creating a range of collateral and presentations for events
  • Maintaining up to date event files, documents and produce event packs
  • Coordinating internal and external partners and suppliers to organise great events and ensure an acceptable return on investment (photographers, furniture, catering)
  • Providing onsite support role at internal and external client events
  • Assisting in the post-event reporting and feedback
  • Working with County team to maintain the Events Calendar and Communications Plan for County and other events identified during the year and managing the associated logistics as part of our broader engagement agenda

  • This role requires flexibility in terms of working days and hours. The successful candidate for thisrole must be able to work hours outside of standard branch opening hours on a regular basis and agree time in lieu to compensate for thiswith their line manager
  • Relevant degree level 8
  • Minimum of APA and on the journey to achieve QFA accreditation

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and expertise:

  • Previous events experience within professional/financial services or hospitality ideal
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent planning, organisation and coordination skills with the ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and on varying agendas simultaneously flexing priorities when needed
  • Competent in a range of MOffice applications (particularly Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Ability and desire to learn quickly and the confidence to work proactively and use initiative
  • Strong judgement - demonstrated in prioritising own workload effectively, pre-empting issues and escalating appropriately
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with high integrity and the self-confidence to interact comfortably with Senior Managers and Executives
  • Publisher and email marketing software preferred
  • Good level of efficiency in work
  • High level of presentation
  • An ability to demonstrate the highest level of confidentiality and discretion
