Role Purpose

This role lies within the existing Consumer Banking Oversight & Risk structure, principally supporting UK Deposits but also extending to provide support on a cross product basis.

The focus of the role is to ensure the robust governance processes are in place across product teams to deliver compliant and consistent services to customers and strengthen the oversight of the end to end value chain across consumer banking products

Management of the Operational Risk Management framework within UK Deposits, with responsibility for demonstrating the embedding of the framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of the UK Deposits Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) profile, ensuring that it is reflective of current business activities.
  • Management of the Risk & Control repository on behalf of UK Deposits, including responsibility for reassessments of risk profile with senior management agreement.
  • Management of the Issue & Event reporting processes, including escalation to Head of Oversight & Risk, Head of Business & 1st & 2nd Line Operational Risk Partners.
  • Manage the UK Deposits Control Test plan, including identification of test parameters, completion of test activity, identification of remediation activity & reporting to Head of Oversight & Risk & Head of Business
  • Manage the evidencing of KRIs & KPIs in relation to Group & third party service providers within the RADAR system to demonstrate clear oversight of outsourced activities.
  • Manage routine reporting requirements, including sign-off by Head of Oversight & Risk and Head of Business to evidence to 1st line Operational Risk partners business awareness of Group & Business Unit issues & events impacting the UK Savings Business.
  • Monitor business audits and monitoring reviews completed in UK Deposits, checking that issues are resolved appropriately, lessons learned are shared, and risk indicators reflect audit and monitoring outcomes.
  • Manage the Business Continuity and Disaster recovery planning for UK Deposits
  • Facilitate/lead on the provision of accurate business MI

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs A-C grades or equivalent

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience of Conduct Risk Framework
  • Proven track record in risk control and assurance management
  • An understanding of risk responsibilities for front-line business
  • Good knowledge of banking principles and compliance requirements specifically impacting on Retail Customers
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to understand impact of issues / errors on customer journey
  • Strong communication skills, together with capability to influence a range of stakeholders (at all levels) with competing priorities
  • Strong proficiency with key IT systems, RADAR, SharePoint, Excel, Word, Powerpoint
