Description of business unit

The Group Technology & Customer Solutions division provides IT Run & Change, Payments and other services to the Bank of Ireland Group, through internal capability as well as management of external vendors and outsourcing partners.

Purpose of the Role

Reporting directly to the head of Strategy & Transformation, This role sits within the heart of systems transformation in Bank of Ireland, working closely with the Group COO, and Group Technology & Customer Solutions colleagues. You will bring systems transformation and divisional updates to life for colleagues across the division and the Group through exciting, engaging and compelling internal communications.

You will work with the central culture and internal communications team, particularly the senior culture and internal change communications manager to bring our purpose and values to life; engaging our colleagues and building a culture of One Group One Team. The Culture and Internal Communications function has an important role to play in helping the Bank of Ireland realise its Purpose, 'Enabling our customers, colleagues and communities to thrive'. You will have responsibility for driving this within GTCS ensuring the central messages are cascaded and our systems transformation story is communicated appropriately group wide. We work hand in hand with the business to drive cultural transformation, embedding our values and connecting colleagues with the Banks Vision and Strategy

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the Group COO to shape the mission, vision and strategy for GTCS, ensuring alignment to overall Group strategy.
  • Deliver a comprehensive communications strategy for the COO which supports the bank's technology transformation agenda.
  • Think creatively about developing engaging communication plans and programs that appeal while managing and delivering compelling communications for GTCS colleagues who are located in various locations across the group.
  • Have experience in change and transformation communications.
  • Ability to build a strong internal network, demonstrate a good understanding of the business and have the ability to influence colleagues to bring your creative vision to life.
  • Deliver impactful and engaging events for our internal team, embedding our strategy, purpose and values into everything we do and say.
  • Have responsibility for managing the Group's internal brand within GTCS. Be the conduit between GTCS and the Group and act as a strategic IC partner to the COO.
  • Collaboratively and proactively work with colleagues across the Group to communicate systems transformation in an effective and positive way, ensuring we obtain buy-in and take our audiences with us on the journey.
  • Build a strong effective working relationship with communications colleagues across the organisation.

Essential Qualifications

  • Extensive previous experience in internal communications. Preferably in an organisation of significant scale with diverse operations and internal communications requirements
  • Demonstrates track record of development collaborative relationships
  • Worked in and exposed to senior level (C-suite) issues, projects and planning, highly confidential and sensitive information
  • Excellent writing, oral and presentation skills
  • Team player, collaborative and positive attitude
  • Strong project management skills - attention to detail and implementation plans
