The Head of DevOps will operationally lead the Agile DevOps development executed by the Bank internally and contribute to oversee that the Agile work executed by third parties, meets Bank standards and objectives. The Candidate will manage the relationship with the Test Factory and with Business and clients.

The successful candidate will have a comprehensive view of DevOps practices including Continuous Delivery, Agile methods and Cloud based IT architectures. He/she will drive innovation in order to improve Business Agility and modern delivery solutions to our Clients.

The Head of DevOps will lead through successful DevOps and Agile transformations, with a strong emphasis on Organizational Change Management (OCM). He/She will drives continuous improvement initiatives of DevOps practices to streamline and improve processes throughout the software development and test lifecycle including SCM & build, code review, deployment & release automation.

The successful candidate will manage and motivates technical subject matter resources within the DevOps Team working via Agile frameworks like Structured Architectural Framework to guarantee complex delivery in an Agile way.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design the business case and implementation plan of the DevOps Bank Factory
  • Implement the transformation by consolidating current diverse DevOps external realities of the Bank, creating an internal capability
  • Ensure the organisation is enabled to deliver, at high productivity and focus, the key strategic Agile developments
  • Liaise with business clients and with the test teams delivering the application to be E2E tested
  • Ensure the business case for Agile is met and drive the appropriate implementation of the Agile model
  • Guide and direct resources to assist in delivery of work as appropriate to a level of 300 people, mixing contract management and internal management appropriately
  • Embed good people management practices in line with Group standards, including completion of goals and reviews for direct reports
  • Support, coach and manage team performance, recognising and utilising individual strengths to achieve optimum benefit for the team
  • Provide support for learning and development for individuals and for the benefit of the overall unit
  • Maintain & monitor standards, controls, processes and solutions, to minimise business and IT risk especially on Change
  • Ensure full compliance with all Group, Legal and Regulatory requirements and standards

Key Requirements of this role:

  • The successful candidate must have 10 years of engagement management experience with expertise in Application Development, Quality Assurance and Testing, and Continuous Delivery. The should be experienced in DevOps practices and using Continuous Delivery (Jenkins, Docker, etc.) and Continuous Deployment (Chef, Puppet) platforms as part of a Continuous Delivery deployment. They should have more than 10 years` experience in the IT domain and more than 5 years in specific Testing and Testing management.
  • The candidate must have a management background with leadership level experience and operate with a professional presence. They should have strong communication skills, an ability to inspire trust and build credibility across the organisation and within the business teams they will be working and leading in. The Candidate must have strong collaboration and good influence skills. They will need to demonstrated high energy, motivation and entrepreneurial abilities.
