Purpose of the Role:

The Head of Enterprise Architecturewill be responsible for creatingan Enterprise Architecture function, driving a capability that provides the "hinge" to align Business Strategy with execution and align IT with the Business.

Key Accountabilities:

Leading an Enterprise Architecture capability that:

  • Challenges and disrupts convention- generates ideas and sponsors opportunities to develop new or improved products, business processes, technologies and business models for the bank
  • Influences the Bank's Strategic Business Plans- Influences and supports executive stakeholders in the development of business plans by providing an in-depth knowledge of market trends, regulatory and technology advances
  • Defines the Target Business Architecture- In collaboration with executive stakeholders defines the target functional/ process capabilities, Information and value streams to support the banks business plans
  • Deploys the Target Architecture- In collaboration with the Change Delivery Directors defines and recommends of Strategic Change Initiatives to support the banks business plans
  • Aligns to Technology Strategy- In collaboration with the Technical Architecture function provide ongoing alignment of proposed Strategic Change Initiatives with the underlying technology vision and strategy
  • Maintains "as-is" state definition- Applies a structured business architecture approach and methodology for capturing the key views of the enterprise including Functional, Process, Information and Value Stream.
  • Maintains investment alignment -Ensures that change investment is aligned to the strategic aims, objectives and business plans of the business strategy/plan
  • Translates vision to reality -In collaboration with Change Delivery Directors translates strategic initiatives into delivery-focused change initiatives
  • Supports the change lifecycle-Supports Change Delivery Directors in change projects with the main purpose of communicating the business architecture vision and ensuring project's alignment with it
  • Owns the Information Strategy -Supports the Bank's Information Strategy and in collaboration with the IT Architecture Team ensures translation to the data strategy

Essential Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified, Level 8+

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Stakeholder Management - Effective management of internal and external stakeholders
  • Leadership excellence, combined with highly tuned interpersonal, influencing and communication skills.
  • Credibility and confidence working at most senior levels in the organisation; including C-suite executives.
  • Business knowledge of Financial Services and other fast changing industries and ability to conduct research.
  • Understanding of Financial Services Industry wide change initiatives including interoperability and regulatory change.
  • IT knowledge and understanding of related transformation disciplines (e.g. strategic planning, portfolio management, change management etc).
  • Knowledge of related architecture or operational disciplines (e.g. data architecture, product or process design).
  • Analytical, logical and interpretive ability to interpret scenarios, express concepts or models and maintain consistency.
  • Education and influencing to make things understood€
  • Knowledge and experience of Business Architecture methodologies (e.g. TOGAF, Business Model Canvas, BizBok) and practices (e.g. capability mapping, value stream mapping, value proposition design etc.).
