Business Banking, incorporating Bank of Ireland Finance, looks after the needs of business customers throughout the country through a variety of channels including a team of relationship managers, business advisors and direct channels. Our focus is on identifying and meeting our customers` needs and adding value to their relationship with Bank of Ireland. The Sectors Team within Business Banking is a key part of this. Through the industry expertise of the individuals on the team, who are all recruited directly from industry, they can support businesses across the different sectors as they look to grow and invest in their business.

Purpose of the Role:

  • Develop Bank of Ireland`s strategy to grow our lending to this important sector across both Business Banking and Bank of Ireland Finance.
  • Support relationship managers in their relationship with businesses in the motor sector. This includes targeting non-customers and meeting existing customers with relationship manager, assessing lending proposals using their industry expertise and knowledge ofthe sector.
  • Understand the market, trends and the outlook for the sector and relevant KPIs for the industry.
  • Build the Bank`s profile in the sector externallywith operators in the sector,industry bodies, stakeholders and influencers.
  • Contribute to the Sectors Teams written content including Sectors Newsletters, Reviews and Outlooks and adhoc research reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the motor sector, KPIs, industry trends and outlook.
  • Grow Business Banking and Bank of Ireland Finance market share in the motor sector.
  • Using industry expertise, build value added relationships with customers in conjunction with relationship managers.
  • Build the Bank`s profile in the sector through demonstrating industry expertise with external stakeholders, individual customers and industry bodies.
  • Support the risk management of the Bank`s existing exposure to the sector.
  • Build capability of internal stakeholders sectoral knowledge.
  • Written Sector Reports for external publication.

Essential Skills and Requirements:

  • Significant experience in and knowledge of all areas of the motor industry including new and used sales, operations, after-sales and service and finance.
  • Full understanding of the sectoral KPIs, trends and outlook.
  • Excellent networking skills and ability to interact well with customers on an individual level.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to represent Bank of Ireland professionally at seminars and events.
  • Professional manner with strong credibility.
  • Collaborative and demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and across multi-disciplinary teams.
