Description of business unit

The Infrastructure Operations Team role is to "Enable the Service" through driving our partners in providing the Bank with the Technology required to run the business, securing the Customers and Banks data, improving stability and remaining current in order to provide a premier service.

Purpose of the Role

The Enterprise Infrastructure Lead will plan, direct and coordinate the efforts of Bank and vendor technical teams to manage the successful delivery of services in the live environment with emphasis on Active Directory Services.

Key Accountabilities

Live Service Operations:

  • Review and triage of events and incidents to ensure rapid diagnosis of root causes and ensuring that appropriate remediation actions are triggered.
  • Working with multi-vendors to ensure that live services are managed effectively
  • Specifically focus on the ongoing optimisation of Active Directory Services inclusive of monitoring and checking approach to more effectively identify potential incidents before they occur
  • Effectively escalating issues where necessary to Technology Services leadership
  • Acting as a technical SME for the AD Infrastructure for the bank and sharing that expertise as required within the Infrastructure Operations Team
  • Driving continual improvement across both Bank and vendor teams to ensure ongoing optimisation of performance for the AD Environment
  • Working with the capacity planning process to ensure that sufficient capacity is available for successful live service delivery
  • Provide data to assist Service Management in benchmarking the performance of Infrastructure

Operational Readiness Testing:

  • Working with change delivery teams to ensure that any changes to live operational environment or introduction of new technologies/ applications have been tested to a required standard
  • Responsible for ensuring the design and implementation of structured and documented operational readiness testing processes in conjunction with Service Introduction and change deliver

Management Tasks:

    • Management of technical relationship with vendor teams supporting live operations delivery relating to the Active Directory environment
    • Support model design and implementation
    • Overall process definition and improvement in conjunction with Service Transition and Introduction functions for Active Directory related activities
    • Liaising with stakeholders throughout the GTaC organisation
    • Ensure that all critical Active Directory tasks are adequately documented and knowledge effectively shared within Technology Services - Infrastructure Operations.

In addition to the ongoing operational responsibilities the holder of this role must also seek to plan effectively and optimize live operations to maximise quality and minimise risk. These responsibilities will require extensive stakeholder and vendor management skills to effectively influence others as well as drive change within the holder's direct area of responsibility.

What is the opportunity?

Essential Qualifications

  • At least 5 years minimum experience in Managing Enteprise Active Directory Environment
  • MCSE 2012 / 2016
  • 3rd Level Qualification

Essential Skills & Experience

To fulfil this role, there is a requirement to have strong experience in managing multi-vendors to give assurances that services are being delivered effectively in order to safeguard the business and improve the stability and delivery of this core service

  • Technical experience in Active Directory technologies through design and operation
  • Experience in Virtualisation technologies
  • Experience in managing work across a multi-vendor outsourced environment
  • Experience with event monitoring and issue resolution
  • Extensive understanding of Disaster Recovery and IT Service Continuity management tools and techniquesExperience in Risk Management and risk mitigation

  • Knowlege of Exchange, Collaboration and IDAM Tools
