Purpose of the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a role in the IT Security Teamin one of Irelands most successful life assurance companies. IT Security and Information Security are key components within the IT function of New Ireland. The role holder will be responsible for delivering and driving continuous improvement in relation to the IT Security and Information security risk management framework, controls and testing, IT security standards, processes and testing and the development, review and implementation of policies and structures in support of the wider governance framework.

The role reports to theInformation SecurityManager of New Ireland and the successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with IT and the business in New Ireland and as part of the wider Bank of Ireland Group and Group IT.

Key Accountabilities

  • Information and IT Control awareness, design and documentation
  • Risk organisation, identification, assessment, treatment and reporting
  • Provide support and guidance to key change delivery agenda items
  • Involvement in IT security reviews with BOI IT Security
  • Assist in IT security solution reviews
  • Attendance at the IT Architecture Review Board
  • Security Incident reporting and remediation
  • Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including business areas, IT project and development teams, risk and compliance and relevant 3rd party suppliers
  • Support project delivery through planning, assessment and transition to live service as a key stakeholder in the SDLC process
  • Demonstrate flexibility to cope with changing demands based on business priority
  • Customer service orientation, with an attitude of personal "ownership" for all work

This job can be done anywhere in ROI with the primary office location as Baggot Plaza to which travel will be required for in person collaboration. Exact frequency to be agreed with manager.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Extensive IT experience with at least 3 years in a similar role
  • Strong IT Security background
  • Strong working knowledge of cloud computing and applicable security standards
  • Strong controls background in processes, procedures and controls
  • Proven ability to prioritise, multi-task and manage own workload according to changing priorities
  • Highly organised and self-motivated individual with the ability to prioritise effectively and work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong analytical and report-writing skills to all levels within the company
  • Displays a customer focus and "can do" attitude
  • Ability to deliver in challenging environment

Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • ITIL Foundation V3 certification or good understanding of ITIL processes
  • Experience with industry standard tools such as IDAM, SIEM, Cyber Ark
  • Cybercrime - good working knowledge and experience
  • Familiarity with Radar or industry standard risk management tools
  • CISSP, CISM and or CCSPwould be beneficial to the role
