IT Service Continuity Test Manager

IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM) within the Service Design team owns the ITSCM process and ensures that it is understood and implemented. This process supports the overall Business Continuity Management (BCM) approach by ensuring the required IT technical and service facilities (including computer systems, networks, applications, data repositories, telecommunications, environment, technical support and Service Desk) can be resumed within required, and agreed, business timescales.

ITSCM also has responsibility for development and maintenance of the IT Service Continuity Plan and working with all IT service providers on the development and execution of a schedule of Service Continuity tests across the year.

Key components to success will be:

  • All appropriate ITSCM issues & risks that could seriously impact on IT Services are closely managed.
  • Quality development, production and maintenance of the overall IT Service Continuity Testing Plan underpinning our Mission Critical Business Services.
  • Close management, measurement and execution of the Service Continuity test schedule and execution

The Service Design team overall comprises of Availability, Capacity and IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM and BCM ) and integration across all areas has been identified as key success to lifting the IT Service offering in Technology Services.

The opportunity:

The role of an ITSCM Test Manager will be a key role in the implementation of `Layered` IT Service Continuity testing approach in 2018. Namely : -

  • Implementation of the new ITSCM Test approach, moving from IT component to IT service based testing
  • Implementation of a management framework for ITSCM Runbooks across our critical services ( Controls, validation, ownership )
  • Ensuring the required test coverage of Mission Business Critical Business Services is achieved
  • Ensuring the new ITSCM Test strategy supports Group BCM Objectives

Location: This role is based in IT Centre, Cabinteely.

Key Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities for an ITSCM Test Manager include: -

  • Management of the ITSCM Test strategy for Mission Business Critical Services
  • Adopting a thorough project to management approach to test planning, execution, approvals and reporting.
  • Maintaining a minimum 6 month forward view and schedule to ITSCM Testing.
  • Ensuring business and internal stakeholder communication around the ITSCM test schedule is in place at all times
  • Ensuring ITSCM Test results are reported at both technical level and business stakeholder level against key measures
  • Ensuring ITSCM Risk and Compliance is to the fore of test planning, and maintenance of Risk, Issues, Controls and Events is in place.
  • Ensure alignment to Group BCM Requirements in place in all duties.

Essential Requirements:

Experience:

  • Experience of managing IT projects in a multi-source IT environment
  • Market knowledge of ITSCM and BCM best practice and standards
  • An ability to communicate at multiple stakeholder levels
  • Demonstrated ability to manage well under pressure
  • Strong inter-personal skills, with the ability and confidence to develop and build good relationships with key external suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Education:

  • Leaving certificate - minimum of 5 passes (grade D or above) at Ordinary Level, which must includeEnglish and Maths, or equivalent or superseding qualification

Desirable Requirements:

    • 3rd level degree in a relevant discipline
    • Project Management experience in an IT outsourced environment.
    • Project Management certification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP).
    • ITIL v3 Qualification.
    • Knowledge or Risk and Control frameworks
    • ISO 22301
  • Experience in Technical project implementations
