Our Northridge IT team are part of Group Technology & Customer Solutions (GTCS) area within Bank of Ireland and are responsible for the full end-to-end delivery and support of a wide range of applications used by Northridge staff and customers.
Northridge Finance is one of the UK's most dynamic and partner driven finance houses with over 60 years' experience providing personal and commercial finance to the Motor, Agricultural, Insurance Premium and Leisure finance markets.
Services provided by the highly skilled Northridge IT team range from systems integration architecture, design, security, application and API delivery including platform tooling and support. We deliver flexible and scalable technology that is secure to enable our customers, colleagues and communities to thrive.
The Lead Software Engineer will be responsible for providing technical leadership and delivering quality UI & API applications whilst working closely with various partners and developers across multiple work streams. This role will manage and provide direction for developers, acting as a partner concern point for technical queries or issues. They will ensure the SDLC is adhered and continually inspire change and standard methodologies within the existing Scrum / Agile & DevOps environment.
Providing technical direction and leadership to developers / scrum teams
Be an effective member of the Scrum teams and participate positively in all the ceremonies.
Ensuring developers have the requisite tooling, methodology and process to drive delivery efficiency
Being a leader for other engineers and ensures that career path and transfer of knowledge is embedded in ways of working
Follow Group Service Introduction & change approval processes to work within group standards and Industry standards as appropriate.
Liaise with users regarding system requirements.
Align with audit requirements, specifically ensuring all SDLC standards are adhered to.
Software development and Unit testing.
Ensure applications align with required security controls and standard methodologies
Adhere to all the GTCS controls, processes and solutions to minimise business and IT risk.
Operate in compliance with all Group. Legal, Regulatory requirements and standards.
Striving to continuously develop new and improved engineering capabilities
Contributing to the continual improvement of the business's data platforms through observations and well-researched knowledge
Continuously keeping track of industry standard methodologies and trends and through acquired knowledge, which takes advantage of process and system improvement opportunities
As a People Manager you will be accountable for demonstrating and role modelling the Group values and behaviours through your people management and the way in which you deliver business goals.
Third-level qualification in Computer Related Subject area
