Group Legal Services (GLS) provides a wide range of significant transactional and advisory services to the Bank of Ireland Group and assists business in the identification and management of legal risk. The function has a Group-wide remit and reports to the Chief Risk Officer.

Purpose of the Role

  • The Innovation & Customer team sits within Group Legal Services and provides strategic and internal legal advice to internal product, operations and business teams in the respect of digital, payments and data protection issues

This is an excellent opportunity to join a market leading financial services provider and work on exciting digital banking products as a Legal Advisor!

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a legal advisor in the support of the Bank's digital banking channels, mobile app and online services for personal and business customers and related digital matters in the Republic of Ireland.
  • Reviewing and approving customer facing documentation, terms and conditions and communications.
  • Analysing the impact of new regulations and advising on ongoing regulatory requirements;
  • Advise on Data Protection and Payment Account Services

Essential Qualifications

Qualified Solicitor

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Qualified lawyer with extensive commercial experience in a commercial or in-house environment.
  • Possess capability to address complex legal and regulatory issues.
  • Excellent communication and influencing abilities, including the ability to interact effectively at senior levels, both within the organisation and with external bodies.
  • Strong commerciality and problem-solving skills!
  • Strong interpersonal, decision making and relationship building skills and strategic thinking.
  • Ability to exercise commercial judgement and constructively challenge business owners to ensure alignment between key partners in a dynamic growth area.
