The Loans System Architect is a new rolewithin the UK Loans team and will matrix manage both internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth change delivery and enable service delivery oversight.

Therole holder will be involved in all elements change across the e2evalue chain. This ranges from proactively identifying and delivering system changes to providing SME consultation on all areas of product and proposition development.

As part of a relatively small team, the ability to lead incident resolution and continuous improvement with autonomy is a key part of what makes this role vital to the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as technical SME for unsecured lending platforms First Vision and Powercurve as well as bureaux and fraud tools such as Experian, Call Credit, Bank Wizard and Hunter.
  • Ownership of technical delivery for projects and production issues (i.e. from business requirements gathering to business handover). Act as senior change consultant for product and proposition development bringing testing and technical knowledge/expertise in relation to impact assessment.
  • Use understanding of the systems, platforms and data flows to complete relevant aspects of solution design, business requirements and planning for both large and small change.
  • Investigate discrepancies in system operation, identify problem root cause and matrix manage resolution across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Define and utilise relevant MI to monitor performance and proactively identify errors / exceptions / slow system or process performance as well as opportunities to optimise.
  • Undertake assessment of 3rd party release / change schedule, define the resulting BOI scope as well as the programme and test structure required.
  • Maintain internal & external relationships with key stakeholders/providers. This will include First Data, Operations UK, GTAC, Experian, Retail Credit, Product team and Vendor Management. Lead interactions across technical elements.
  • Manage one direct report, Existing BA / Tester
  • Manage any third party BA business implants as required.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience as a technical architect or BA either in an IT role or a service delivery capacity
  • Experience of working on change programmes and solution design.
  • Background working on financial services products with complex workflows and multiple systems / interfaces.
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills. Be able to scrutinise data, information, problems and processes to determine issues, opportunities, insights and solutions.
  • Constant customer focus. From individual problem resolution to building new journeys the ability to always keep the customer at the centre of what we do is vital.
  • Excellent communication skills, highly confident with the ability to deal with a broad range of business partners of varying ranks in a professional, competent and persuasive manner.
  • Ability to strive for results and influence people outside the immediate team.
