The Project Finance team identifies and originates transactions within the Energy and Infrastructure sector in Ireland. This specific role will be focussed on the Energy market albeit opportunities will arise to focus on the infrastructure sector. The Energy team targets both Corporate and Business banking profile customers.

Key Reponsibilities:

Business Development & Transaction Execution:

Provide proactive support to team on Origination & Execution activities, including:

  • Participation in business development meetings/activities.
  • Assisting with early stage bid support and/or bank mandating processes including input to negotiation of key terms and conditions.
  • Assist with completion of detailed deal due diligence - financial, technical, legal, commercial.
  • Supporting colleagues in review of key project terms and documentation.
  • Preparation of new Credit Applications e.g. financial models, cash flow stress testing etc.
  • Attendance at customer & industry meetings.
  • Develop and maintain contacts with key customers/sponsors, advisers, other banks and industry at large.

Portfolio Management & Customer Relationship Management:

  • Proactive management of a portfolio of transactions, ensuring highest standards of credit and risk management are applied. This includes full responsibility for all aspects of post-financial close management and monitoring.
  • Completion on a timely basis of credit papers & waiver requests and on-going monitoring of project-related information.
  • Identify and implement a remedial and on-going strategy for the close management of higher-grade and problematic accounts.
  • Point of contact for customer and/on specific elements of on-going account bank and agency roles or other administrative tasks as required.
  • Administration and Compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Regulatory, Compliance, SoX, Operational Risk and Loans Administration procedures.

Essential Qualifications:

Third level honours degree qualification (level 8 on National Framework).

QFA is the preferred qualification however candidates with APA Loans and APA Savings and Investments will meet the MCC requirements of this role.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong financial and analytical skills.
  • Strong financial modelling experience working on project finance transactions or similar transactions;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Good business acumen, a commercial focus and a decisive, pragmatic approach to problem solving.
  • Strong customer focus and relationship building skills
  • Experience of dealing with Project Finance and/or Cash Flow Credit Analysis.
  • Experience of negotiating and/ or reviewing legal documentation.
  • Well-developed communication skills, strong verbal and written skills, including the ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet sometimes challenging deadlines.
