Bank of Ireland Corporate Banking is Ireland's leading corporate bank. Based in Burlington Plaza, Dublin, London, Paris, Frankfurt, Madrid, Stamford and Chicago, Corporate Banking (CB) manages the Bank's largest and most prestigious domestic & international customers, servicing their entire banking needs in Ireland and operating in niche sectors internationally. CB comprises of 3 core businesses - Corporate Ireland & UK, Global Acquisition Finance, Global Property Finance, together with a Challenged and Non-Core Division, and Business Supports & Assurance.

Purpose of the Role

Against the backdrop of CB's strong growth agenda, the Risk Measurement & Strategy Team (RMS) provides comprehensive support in the areas of credit risk measurement and risk based pricing.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensuring that Corporate Banking's Credit Risk Models remain both compliant and aligned to support CB's growth agenda.
  • Work closely with CB's Model Owners, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), and Non-Retail Model Development (NRMD) to ensure accurate analysis of Model inputs/outputs.
  • Ensuring CB Model Owners are appropriately educated and prepared for Regulatory interactions, Model Audits & Calibrations, Quarterly Performance reviews, Risk Measurement Committee meetings, etc.
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with senior management in CB and other internal/external stakeholders, by adapting your own approach to create 'win-win' situations.
  • Working closely with the Head of Risk Measurement & Strategy on capital & pricing initiatives, and assisting generally with pricing support.

Key deliverables of this role will be to represent and protect both Group and CB's interests at all times.

Essential Qualifications

Relevant professional/academic qualification.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong credit awareness - the ability to recognise and find the right balance between risk measurement excellence and the business needs.
  • Self-starter with a proven ability to pro-actively multi-task across challenging environments where there may be conflicting/ambiguous requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to quickly establish professional credibility and build effective relationships at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong judgement and decision making - provide members of CB's leadership team with sound analysis and balanced insights to their business.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a working knowledge of Tableau.

Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Familiarity with Regulatory standards and the Basel 3 Framework.
  • Good understanding of CB's business, product base plus a good working knowledge of Bank of Ireland's Pricing System (BIPS).
