Division Description

Led by the recently appointed Chief Marketing Officer, we are creating Group Marketing function which will develop a strong brand for Bank of Ireland, shaping and delivering a differentiated position for the Bank in the markets in which we operate. This will enable us to shape and deliver on our purpose to enable customers, colleagues and communities to thrive and to build the National Champion Bank in Ireland. The Group Marketing function will be underpinned by the following strategic imperatives designed to transform the Bank of Ireland brand: Customer planning across business under one group brand strategy and agreed brand pillar priorities, Deep brand & customer insight, Consistent & compelling customer communication across all touchpoints, Data driven marketing, Customer experience insight & innovation design, Integrated Technology transformation, Robust Marketing spend effectiveness & governance.

Description of business unit

Bank of Ireland has entered an exciting new phase of development. An important part of the next phase is the development and delivery of strong customer led segment propositions. A strong commercial marketing function is recognised as essential to future success. This team will act as a Marketing Centre of excellence for the BOI Group.

Purpose of the Role

The Marketing Manager will work with Segment and Product owners and business leads to develop and implement comprehensive rolling marketing plans that deliver brand and business objectives.

They will also ensure that all communications align to the brand positioning and creative platform.

Key Accountabilities

Proposition & Segments Marketing

  • Develop and manage the delivery of a rolling marketing plan to drive customer recruitment, retention, engagement and brand positioning objectives for key products and segments
  • Deliver quarterly marketing plans for each product/segment.
  • Collaborate with Product & Segment owners to build strong, customer-focused propositions for each segment.

Integrated Marketing Campaigns with a strong focus on measurement and ROI

  • Work cross-functionally with planning, channels, CVM, analytics and insight teams to deliver effective and integrated campaigns.
  • Ensure all activity is measured against clear objectives, conduct detailed post campaign analysis and socialise with key stakeholders.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build and manage excellent relationships with agencies, contractors and internal functions to deliver strong, market leading creative solutions and appropriate cost efficiencies.
  • Be the face of Group Marketing for key Product & Segment owners. Foster great relationships through regular and clear communication and a commitment to great work.

Essential Qualifications

Third level qualification, ideally in relevantdiscipline,with minimum 7 years post qualification experience.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven Marketing ability and experience of delivering commercial marketing campaigns to the highest standards across digital and traditional channels.
  • Excellent organisational and project management experience, with proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously on time and within budget.
  • An experienced communicator with excellent writing skills and a proven ability to write and edit in Plain English.
  • Proven ability to manage senior stakeholders to collaborate and deliver in matrix work environments through strong influencing skills.
  • Proven ability to manage external agency partnerships to deliver strong value and ROI.

Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Digital marketing experience

Commercial marketing experience in Financial Services and specifically in Consumer banking markets
