Description of business unit

Group Technology & Customer Solutions comprises a number of key business areas: Group Customer Origination & Fulfilment, Group Customer Services, Group Services, IT@BOI, Group Information Security, Risk Management Support and the Group Portfolio Office. These businesses are supported by HR and Finance partners

Purpose of the Role

The purpose of this role is to help Bank of Ireland to manage EMS test environments so that they are built consistently, integrated with BoI's CI/CD pipelines and use BoI's strategic set of dev/build/test/deploy strategic toolset. The role involves working closely with existing development teams and the newly formed DevOps Centre of Excellence (DCOE) building defining and building new capabilities.

Key Accountabilities

  • Implement software configuration management using the latest source code management tools
  • Automation of Build and Deployment using CI/CD Pipelines in Jenkins
  • Handling Atlassian Tools suite
  • Running other DevOps tools like Jenkins, Sonarqube, Artefactory, Nexus etc
  • Familiarity with O/S, database and middleware products like RHEL, Windows, JBOSS, MQ, Connect:Direct, WAS, SQL Server etc.

Essential Qualifications

  • 3rd level degree or equivalent

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Should have good hands-on experience on source code management tools like Clearcase, Git and Bitbucket
  • Should have hands-on experience in Jenkins and Perl/Python Scripting
  • Should have hands -on experience with Atlassian tools like JIRA, Confluence and Crowd.
  • Candidate should possess strong analytical skills
  • Candidate should possess strong communication skills
  • Candidate should have the ability to work independently.
  • Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Experience

    • Good to have working knowledge of Sonarqube and Artefactory.
    • Good to have Linux Administration skills
    • Good to have AWS knowledge.
