Description of business unit

In a changing market environment, where customers are increasingly expecting personalised customer experiences, Customer Analytics is leading the charge to enable and deliver these customer-centric personalised experiences through data analytics and the application of machine learning and artificial intelligence within advanced customer decisioning systems. To deliver on this vision the Customer Analytics team leverage internal and external data and apply data analytics, machine learning and visualisation techniques to maximise the value of this data and deliver positive outcomes for our customers and our business. The complex challenges the team faces means there is considerable opportunity for team members to grow and develop both their technical and non-technical skills to achieve their full potential at Bank of Ireland.

Purpose of the Role

The Lead Decisioning Architect (LDA) is the technical lead responsible for managing the implementation of omni-channel customer engagement strategies in PEGA. The LDA will own the implementation of Next Best Actions, complex logic to drive customer engagement and the use of Adaptive/Predictive Modelling to deliver considerable positive outcomes for our customers and the Group.

Key Accountabilities

  • Technical PEGA Decisioning lead responsible for delivering and optimising customer and business value from data, analytics and customer engagement.
  • Design and configure decisioning rules, logic, and process flow development with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand the requirements and transform business requirements into efficient, scalable customer Decisioning Strategies and solutions.
  • Consolidate and create Pega Adaptive / Predictive Models from various data sources.
  • Leverage previous experience on implementing PEGA Decisioning logic to ensure that leading practices are adhered to.
  • Generate new ideas and recommend ways to use Pega Decisioning to improve model performance and deliver positive commercial and customer outcomes.
  • Provide excellent insight into Decisioning task estimation and prioritization as part of the Agile Delivery approach in place.
  • Act as Scrum Master for the team, coaching and facilitating to enable the team to focus on the right things, and fostering a team learning dynamic that embeds continuous improvement
  • Create a strong culture within the team to attract and retain top talent.
  • Manage, mentor and develop more junior Decision Architects and QA Analysts including the creation of clear development and training paths.

What is the opportunity

The successful candidate will be the technical lead on a team of Decisioning analysts responsible for leveraging Customer Decisioning to support growth in customer value and innovation within Bank of Ireland.

This individual will be responsible for bringing Decisioning expertise in identifying brand and commercial opportunities within our customer base, across our business units and customer segments.

This is a high visibility role within the team and a great opportunity to make a difference to our customers. This a front facing role with lots of exposure to key business units and senior stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications

  • Significant years of experience working with PEGA Marketing / Customer Decision Hub
  • Certified PEGA Decisioning Consultant

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Excellent knowledge of various Pega Marketing and Decisioning concepts and rule types like strategies, offer flows, activities, when rules, functions, data transforms, decision logic, dataflows, datasets, adaptive models, reporting, agents and ruleset management.
  • Experience in Agile Delivery methods.
  • A highly motivated and driven individual looking to make a major contribution to the success of analytics within the Bank of Ireland Group.
  • An individual with a commercial mind-set who is driven by delivering measurable value from Analytics.
  • Leverage exceptional attention to detail to deliver impactful results and insights.
  • Experience of managing, mentoring and developing people
  • Bachelors in Statistics, Analytics, Marketing or equivalent quantitative field.

Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Experience with Teradata, Hue, Cloudera or similar big data technologies.
  • A good understanding of marketing engagement channels and digital marketing.
  • MSc in Statistics, Computer Science, Analytics, Marketing or equivalent quantitative field.
  • Experience with web behavioural data and customer journey analytics.

This job can be done anywhere in ROI with the primary office location as Dublin to which travel will be required for in person collaboration. Exact frequency to be agreed with manager.
