Our people drive our business and our People Services (PS) department is responsible for defining and driving every aspect of our people strategy and priorities, in partnership with the business. Our teams create innovative and commercial solutions to deliver business results, and we are proud to have won a number of awards recognising our change programmes and learning & development initiatives.

The Opportunity

During the PS Graduate Programme, you will get the opportunity to work on a number of different teams (mostly based in Dublin, with some opportunities for rotations in the UK), giving you a broad range of experiences in several areas of HR.

While on one of our Business Partner Teams, you will work closely with our experienced HR Business Partners in a particular business area, and get an understanding of how People Services partners with a business to drive and deliver on their people priorities.

You will also have the opportunity to work on one of our HR Specialist teams, working with experienced professionals in Leadership & Talent Development, Resourcing, Employee Relations, Performance & Reward Management, and Learning & Engagement. As well as this, you could be working alongside our Project Managers who deliver major HR change programmes across the whole of Bank of Ireland Group.

What you can expect in return

During your two years on the Programme, you will gain insight into the challenges and opportunities facing our businesses and our people. You will have real responsibility and will play a key role on strategic projects and initiatives. You will work with and learn from great people and develop your technical expertise in HR.

I heard about the Bank of Ireland Graduate Programme during one of the open days in my college. The staff working on the stand were really friendly and helpful, and gave me all the information needed to ensure that Band of Ireland was the place for me.

The great thing about the programme is that you get the opportunity to work on projects as well as day-day business as usual activities. So far I have worked on a variety of projects such as re-structuring one of our core divisions, employee initiative programmes, an on-boarding project, an inclusion and diversity programme and I’ve also become a committee member for the HR Innovation team. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved.
