Global Markets (GM) is Ireland's leading treasury services provider.
The Markets Group is a core function within Global Markets and is responsible for managing the Foreign Exchange and Interest Rate exposures of the Bank of Ireland Group and for the optimal execution of the Group's Funding & Liquidity strategy.
The Markets Group works closely with customer facing teams to provide wholesale pricing for a broad range of Retail, Corporate and Institutional customers, engages in proprietary trading opportunities in foreign exchange, interest rate and derivatives markets and provides market commentary to stakeholders and customers.

In this context, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Liquid Asset Desk as Portfolio Manager within the Markets Group.
We are looking for individuals with an interest in Financial Markets, local and geo-politics, economics or behavioural science.
The role is being offered at Principal Dealer 1 - Band 3.
Key team member of Liquid Asset Desk team - a dedicated desk responsible for the management of the Group's high-quality liquid asset (HQLA) securities portfolio, ensuring that the composition and structure of the portfolio is in compliance with ALCO approved policy and regulatory requirements
Optimisation of key portfolio considerations including liquidity, capital, income, credit quality and market risk exposures
Working closely with key internal stakeholders across the Group and preparation of papers for ALCO, GCRC and GCTC
Analysis of ongoing regulatory and capital developments in terms of portfolio impact
Broadening our relationships with key external counterparties including investment banks, securities issuers and research analysts
Research new developments across financial markets and sharing learnings, opinions and findings with colleagues
Regular opportunities to participate in ad-hoc projects in GM and across the wider Group
Develop an in-depth understanding of markets
Explore the BOI balance sheet, understand the credit, liquidity and interest rate risk inherent in its product suite, and develop solutions to manage these risks
Execute in financial markets on behalf of the Group
