In Group Risk we recognise that banking is evolving rapidly and have created a Risk Innovation hub to drive innovation and enhancements across the whole spectrum of our risk management capabilities.

Purpose of the Role

Risk Innovation will use process engineering, design thinking, emerging technologies and advanced data science to drive greater operational efficiencies and analytical insight across Group Risk activities.

As a key function within Enterprise Risk Management, the team deliver innovative solutions in line with a strategic roadmap and in collaboration with analytics, innovation and technology teams across the Group.

What is the opportunity?

You will become a member of the fast-moving and impactful Risk Innovation team, focussed on delivering real change and tangible benefits in terms of the productivity and performance of risk management processes, leading to better customer outcomes.

You will be using your initiative and technical skills in the analysis, design and implementation of projects to deploy the latest advances in process design, analytics and technology.

Key Accountabilities

  • Proactively contribute to the execution of solutions in collaboration with colleagues using the Agile 'sprint' method, including prototyping and design thinking
  • Researching and applying the latest techniques and best practices into business practices, including advanced analytics, machine learning and visualisations
  • Proactively contribute to and promote a culture of innovation and a community of practice in line with the Group Value of "One Group One Team"

Essential Qualifications

  • Relevant third level degree qualification or professional qualifications.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Good organisational skills and a clear desire to work in a fast-paced and agile project environment
  • A flair for problem solving and an appetite to tackle interesting challenges
  • You will have previous experience in delivering measurable value from advanced analytics and machine learning
  • Evidence of exemplifying the Group's values of being customer-centric, agile, accountable and being 'One Group One Team'.

Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Experience

We are looking for people with skills and experience across a range of areas and value candidates that have some or all of the following attributes

  • Experience in the areas of innovation and design thinking
  • Experience in developing data visualisations with tools such as Tableau, Qlikview
  • Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate across business and technical teams
  • While not essential, broad knowledge of core risk management processes would be advantageous
