Description of Business Unit

The Technology Security Operations (TSO) Security Monitoring Team at Bank of Ireland provides continuous monitoring and analysis of potential security incidents. The Security Monitoring Team works with other IT Security Teams across the Group to improve the organisations security posture through the detection, triage, and response to potential security issues.

As part of the Security Monitoring Team, you will utilise the latest security controls and systems to identify potential threats, you will have the opportunity to work with our committed security partners and work in a thriving and exponentially growing industry.

Purpose of the role:

The Security Monitoring Analyst is an important role within this team. We are seeking individuals with a strong interest in IT Security. Successful candidates should have experience of Level 2 security team which monitors systems on the BOI estate with the objective of identifying potential security incidents that impact the Group.

Key Responsibilities:

The TSO Security Monitoring team delivers important security related services such as the and email quarantine intervention service, and performs initial triage and remediation actions on those incidents where such processes have been agreed with other stakeholders.

The candidate is expected to have a customer-centric focus, as well as a strong operational capability, where by procedures are operated by team.

Essential Qualifications:

Relevant 3rd level qualification or equivalent relevant work experience.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Using SIEM Systems
  • Security Incident Response
  • Malware Analysis
  • Networking
  • Security Training collateral
  • Operating systems
  • Scripting languages

Professional qualifications such as CISSP, GCIH, ECIH or CCNA are desirable.
