Description of business unit

The Group Customer Analytics team sits within the Group Marketing function and supports our customers, colleagues and partners across Ireland, UK and Internationally.

In a changing market environment, where customers are increasingly expecting personalised customer experiences, Customer Analytics is leading the charge to enable and deliver these customer-centric personalised experiences through data analytics and the application of machine learning and artificial intelligence within advanced customer decisioning systems. To deliver on this vision the Customer Analytics team leverage internal and external data and apply data analytics, machine learning and visualisation techniques to maximise the value of this data and deliver positive outcomes for our customers and our business. The complex challenges the team faces means there is considerable opportunity for team members to grow and develop both their technical and non-technical skills to achieve their full potential at Bank of Ireland.

Purpose of the Role

The Senior Decisioning Architect (SDA) is responsible for managing the implementation of omni-channel customer engagement strategies in PEGA. The SDA will be responsible for the implementation of Next Best Actions, complex logic to drive customer engagement and the use of Adaptive/Predictive Modelling to deliver considerable positive outcomes for our customers and the Group.

Key Accountabilities

  • Technical PEGA Decisioning role responsible for delivering and optimising customer and business value from data, analytics and customer engagement.

  • Design and configure decisioning rules, logic, and process flow development with a focus on continuous improvement.

  • Work with stakeholders to understand the requirements and transform business requirements into efficient, scalable customer Decisioning Strategies and solutions.

  • Leverage previous experience on implementing PEGA Decisioning logic to ensure that leading practices are adhered to.

  • Generate new ideas and recommend ways to use Pega Decisioning to improve model performance and deliver positive commercial and customer outcomes.

  • Provide excellent insight into Decisioning task estimation and prioritization as part of the Agile Delivery approach in place.

  • Act as Scrum Master for the team, coaching and facilitating to enable the team to focus on the right things, and fostering a team learning dynamic that embeds continuous improvement

  • Create a strong culture within the team to attract and retain top talent.

  • Mentor and develop more junior Decision Architects

What is the opportunity

The successful candidate will join a team of talented Decisioning analysts responsible for leveraging Customer Decisioning to support growth in customer value and innovation within Bank of Ireland.

This individual will be responsible for bringing Decisioning expertise in identifying brand and commercial opportunities within our customer base, across our business units and customer segments.

This is a high visibility role within the team and a great opportunity to make a difference to our customers. This a front facing role with lots of exposure to key business units and senior stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications

Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Analytics, Marketing or equivalent quantitative field.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 1-2 years' experience in Pega Marketing / Customer Decisioning Hub

  • Experience in designing and implementing CDH solutions

  • Knowledge about the processes in a Pega BAU team and deployment management

  • Experience in building and delivering Actions and Treatments using CDH

  • Good understanding of Inbound and Outbound channels and how these differ in Pega

  • Good understanding of system integration and how services work in Pega

  • Good understanding of Pega Classes and Data structure in Pega

  • Excellent collaborator with business stakeholders, Business Analysts, data governance, analytics, functional and technical leads to ensure the right solution is created for the business need.

  • Excellent time management and organization skills as well as the ability to manage multiple competing business / technical priorities

  • Provide excellent insight into Decisioning task estimation and prioritization

  • Ability to define and follow best practices in CDH architecture / design / coding

  • Pega Certified Decisioning Consultant (preferably 8.5)

  • Self-motivated with the ability to operate independently, work proactively, and to achieve results without close supervision.

  • Industry knowledge is a plus

Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Experience with Teradata, Hue, Cloudera or similar big data technologies.

  • A good understanding of marketing engagement channels and digital marketing.

  • Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Analytics, Marketing or equivalent quantitative field.

  • Experience with web behavioural data and customer journey analytics.
