Who are We?

Our Group Procurement & Partner Management team is a Bank of Ireland Group-wide function that provides Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, Partner Relationship Management, Supplier Risk Management & Governance and Procurement Services & Transformation support to all Divisions and Business Units.

Group Procurement & Partner Management is part of Group Technology & Customer Solutions division within Bank of Ireland and incorporates Category Business Partnering and Strategic Partner Relationship Management

We facilitate the effective purchase of goods and services across the Bank with the aim of enhancing value from our total spend whilst protecting against supplier risk.

What is the opportunity?

Key Accountabilities

Support the BOI Procurement team on any sourcing activities

Undertake and/or manage Category Management or Sourcing projects, activities or workload that for any reason (e.g. conflict of interest, confidentiality) cannot be undertaken by the Outsource Partner

Support the Head of Business Partner Management to deliver any non-standard activities i.e. those that fall outside of the remit of the Outsource Partner or the roles of other members of the Business Partner team.

Approval of proposals, purchase requests (checking vs contract), RFS etc

Tracking status of RFIs, RFPs versus expected project timescales

Support and provide extra capacity to the Business Partner Management team as directed by the Head of Partner Management

Work with Outsource provider to identify and report on savings

Support Business Partners and Outsource provider in their interactions with business and suppliers

Manage the Day to day activity on the ERP system for the retain team

Who are You?

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Experience working in procurement sourcing
  • Broad experience of procurement lifecycle including category management
  • Good knowledge of Procurement and Supplier Management processes
  • Experience of running and managing sourcing projects
  • Exposure to broad range of procurement categories
  • Project & Programme Management experience
  • Excellent standout colleague
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Commercially astute and possessing strong numerical skills
  • Competent with desktop productivity tools (e.g. word, excel, PowerPoint etc)
  • Willingness to learn and develop, flexible and eager to support others
  • Ability to self-manage workload and adjust to changing priorities
  • Detail oriented, organised
  • Ability to work with spreadsheets
  • Analytical, logical and interpretive ability
  • Ability to influence others using logical analysis and persuasive discussion
  • Ability to explain the complex simply, to maximise understanding in others
  • Experience with ERP system

Desirable Skills / Skills

  • University degree in Business, Finance or related field
  • A professional qualification in Procurement e.g., CPSM, CIPs, IIPMM
  • Experience of Banking, Financial Services or other regulated environment

We have a hybrid working model, with home, agile hub and office based options available. We will always list a primary location which can be where you go for in person collaboration, and a location where you can best perform your role.

This job can be done anywhere in the Republic of Ireland with the primary office location as Dublin to which travel will be required for in person collaboration.

Exact frequency to be agreed with manager.
