Group Procurement & Partner Management is a Bank of Ireland Group-wide function that provides Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, Partner Relationship Management, Supplier Risk Management & Governance and Procurement Services & Transformation support to all Divisions and Business Units. Group Procurement is part of Group Technology & Customer Solutions.

We facilitate the effective purchase of goods and services across the Bank. We do so with the aim of maximizing value from our total spend whilst protecting against supplier risk.

The Business Partner Management function incorporates Category Business Partnering and Strategic Partner Relationship Management.

This job can be done anywhere in ROI with the primary office location as Dublin to which travel will be required for in person collaboration. Exact frequency to be agreed with manager.

Key Accountabilities

  • Contribute and influence the strategic plan for optimizing partner relationship to support the Group Strategy, to push innovation and to optimize global partnerships
  • Lead the gathering and translation of Industry and partner trends and build on a structured communication of opportunities, innovations and proven implementations to business stakeholders and senior leaders
  • Proactively identify and measure innovation and continuous improvement opportunities proposed by partners that contribute to new solutions or improvements within the broader Group
  • Provide partner insights and strategy to the procurement business partners and category Manager(s) to enable effective sourcing strategies
  • Impact and monitor partner relationships, influence and drive mutual improvements focused on an effective, cost-minded and an innovative partnership model
  • Influence and drive change across the Group as it relates to partner performance
  • Identify and influence synergies across the Group by managing stakeholder relationships internally with the relevant service owners and externally with Tier 1 partners
  • Facilitate and prepare materials for partner governance and business reviews for select partners i.e. Quarterly Business Reviews and Monthly Operationally Reviews
  • Manage escalations for risks & issues within scope of responsibility by developing a corrective action plan
  • Drive strategic and operational oversight to ensure the offshore team is effectively managing partner performance and operations
  • Manage partner due diligence in partnership with sourcing and due diligence teams
  • Standardize and influence adherence to partner governance processes i.e. forums, agenda, attendees
  • Collaborate with the Category Business Partners and Category Management team in the negotiation of applicable contracts and develop partner strategy and manage and influence partner contract management processes for Tier 1 partners to ensure timely execution of contract reviews and approvals in coordination with Category Business Partners, Category Teams and all other stakeholders
  • Participate in the development of Supply Agreements by providing input into contract negotiation strategies/recommend contract changes as appropriate
  • Proactively engage business stakeholders
  • Other projects and duties as required/assigned

Essential Qualifications

  • University degree in Business, Finance or related field
  • A professional qualification in Procurement e.g., CPSM, CIPs, IIPMM

Essential Skills & Experience

  • In depth and strategic experience in sourcing, supplier management, or Supply Chain, knowledge of the financial services industry, and best practices in Third-Party relationship management
  • Good technical knowledge will be of added value
  • Excellent understanding of industry best practices
  • Proven executive-level communication and relationship skills and advanced presentation skills
  • Ability to build relationships both internally and externally, including establishing solid relationships with key partners

Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Strategic business experience in Procurement or partner relationship management with experience in managing Tier 1 suppliers
