Description of business unit

The Procurement Services, Supplier Risk and Transformation function is responsible for the daily oversight and continuous improvement of the end-to-end Source to Pay (S2P) process. The function supervises systems and process across the wider Procurement teams to ensure all spend is sourced, risk assessed and managed in a controlled and documented environment in line with industry standard methodologies. With over €1bn in spend YoY, the Procurement Services & Transformation function will ensure key tollgates are positioned across the process, supported by technology, to identify and negotiate opportunities, target, and mitigate risk while pushing spend through an efficient and controlled pipeline to payment. The Procurement Services, Supplier Risk & Transformation function also manage a governance framework for managing 3rd party relationships throughout the bank to identify and mitigate against both organisational and performance-based risk to protect the bank when engaging 3rd parties for goods and services.

The Supplier Performance Process Manager will report directly to the Head of Procurement Services, Supplier Risk & Transformation.

Key Accountabilities

This role will be responsible for managing and monitoring a framework for supplier risk across the bank's supply base. With day-to-day operations conducted through an offshore partner the Supplier Performance Process Manager will;

  • Lead from the front in the oversight of our offshore Sourcing Risk Management team, responsible for providing an end-to-end risk control process and developing strategic relationships with the Bank of Ireland internal partners to optimise value, mitigate risk and drive innovation
  • Identify and support the implementation of enhanced sourcing risk management processes, to include process controls, procedures, reporting and audit trail
  • Oversee the rollout and integration of supplier performance protocols into future technology solutions including identification of process/system enhancements
  • Oversee change delivery process of the outsource partner relating to supplier risk including oversight of change requests, assessments, testing, deployment and associated reporting
  • Ensure the capture of timely and relevant risk and performance data for management reporting and work with our outsource partner in the reporting and enhancement of the Group Sourcing Risk Profile
  • Coordinate and assist in the end-to-end 3rd party risk strategy in conjunction with our offshore partners
  • Be a trusted contact point of escalation for supplier relationship owners and business owners
  • Continue to develop and enhance Procurement guidance and support materials for the Group supplier management community.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Detailed knowledge of Procurement/Supplier Risk Management processes
  • Ability to influence others using logical analysis and persuasive discussion
  • Ability to explain the complex simply, to maximise understanding in others
  • People and Team Management - leadership and management skills, influencing and relationship building

Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • University degree in Procurement, Business, Finance or related field
  • A professional qualification in Procurement eg CPSM, CIPs, IIPMM
  • 5+ years strategic business experience in Procurement
