The Wealth & Insurance Company Wide Technology Team are responsible for introducing and maintaining best in class solutions and technologies.

While working towards our Business Vision, this team maximises existing and new technologies, allowing teams to efficiently and sustainably deliver solutions.

This team is leadingon the implementation of our Data Strategy, emergin technologies and migration to a Hybrid cloud.

Purpose of the Role

The Technical Analystrole will be involved in analysis of complex system architectures and data relationshipsacross both new and existing solutions within Wealth & Insurance.

The role will be a key part of the change delivery teams, working with business & product owners, analysts, developers & quality assurance to deliver outcomes to our business.

The role will also be working closely with Data and Solution Architects leading on analysis which will underpin data and systems standards, design proposals and technical delivery.

As technical analyst, you will have the opportunity to work on solutions and data across all different areas of our business.

You will acquire a detailed understanding of how our business operates and relate this to systems integrations and datarelationships.

Key Accountabilities

  • Technical, Business & Data Design, collaborating with architects and product owners and leaders to drive product definitions and help to deliver digital solutions.
  • Confirm that technical and non-technical requirements are correctly implemented for a product.
  • Leading workshops and requirement gathering leading to high quality business analysis and provide clear business requirement documentation
  • Work independently and has a high level of flexibility to consult with the business at all levels
  • Proactively question pre-conceived ideas on requirements to ensure all gaps are identified and the best possible solutions are recorded' engage with Head of Domain, Head of Business Design and/or functional leaders to document business improvements and issues.
  • Excellent process mapping skills and experience in creating/documenting as-is and to-be business operating scenarios with end users and stakeholders
  • Create Business Requirements Documents and Functional Specifications. Documents user stories, contributes to backlog refinement, daily stand-ups and retrospectives.
  • Liaise with Scrum Masters, POs and engineers to translate technical requirements into business solutions.
  • Collecting, interpreting and analysing data. Finding trends and patterns in the information.
  • Undertake change management activities like change readiness, communication, training and support go live.
  • Provide support to UAT team by defining and carrying out tests to validate new processes.
  • Ensure Business readiness for deployment of the change - i.e. Training support, user config, migration support, incident management
  • Ability to explain complex problems and solutions to the business including stakeholder management
  • Work closely with and build good relationships with client and other delivery partners.
  • Create personas and document business flows.
  • Conduct research on the latest digital trends, technologies and practices
  • Work as part of an innovative team, advocating the importance of continuous integration, delivery, quality insurance and test/process automation.

Essential Qualifications

  • Computer Sciences/Technical Engineering (or equivalent degree)
  • Data Science/Analytics (or equivalent qualification)

Essential Skills & Experience

Technical Experience

Significant technical experience to include:

  • 3+ years in Technical Analysis on delivery teams
  • 1+ years in Data Analysis/Analytics

Technical Skills

  • Significant experience and knowledge of supporting transformational change in a Financial services/Insurance servicing business
  • Strong understanding of Data relationships, analytics and BI
  • Strong understand of systems integration
  • Strong understanding of all aspects of systems implementation and software development life cycles.
  • Capacity to conduct data quality control linkage and validation
  • Experience working with Agile/Hybrid/Waterfall project delivery models
  • Experienced in MS Office including Word, Excel, Jira, Confluence and Visio
  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools
  • Problem solving and root cause identification skills
  • Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization
  • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively
  • A proven track record of strong presentation skills, ability to playback requirements to the business and lead demonstrations on recently delivered software enabling successful collaboration with key stakeholders; ability to translate client requirements into tangible requirements/ deliverables
  • Experience working with technical and business teams to translate internal and external business needs to drive functional and technical requirements.
  • Strong communications and facilitation skills
  • Good collaborative abilities - should be able to perform as a Team Player when required
  • Experience with User story mapping, customer journeys, Personas and voice of customer

Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision

  • Candidates should be highly professional, self-motivated with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Should have the ability to determine cause and devise solutions independently

  • Experience working as a Analyst in financial services/Insurance an advantage

  • Takes personal responsibility for accuracy and quality
