Description of business unit

The Technical domain team are primarily responsible for the development and delivery of new software assets through the SDLC. The team also provide support for the new assets as they enter into and are operated in production.

Working with key providers and delivery partners, the Build (Technical) team bridge the gap between solution architecture, detailed technical design and technical delivery of solutions on the core banking T24Platform and associated software solutions.

Purpose of the Role

The role exists to enable the banksuccessfully deliver the new core banking softwareplatform into production.

Key Accountabilities

  • Analyse proposed software and related systems and business models - recommending solutions and improvements.
  • Undertake delivery through the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Provide integrated solutions whilst creating internal delivery capability for Bank of Ireland. This to cover solutions from upstream systems into downstream systems - map and document interfaces between legacy and new systems.
  • Document and author technical performance requirements adhering to bank delivery methodologies and standards ensuring that functional and non-functional (particularly Security) quality criteria are documented, understood and adhered to.
  • Where necessary support the operations teams with expertise to support new software assets in production environments.

Essential Qualifications

3rd level qualification in relevant business or IT discipline

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Configuration and code development on technical transformational programmes
  • Software architecture and development
  • Knowledge of Software Delivery Methods
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to produce quality artefacts.

Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Technical expertise in:
    • API, Mulesoft, IBM MQ and other integration software components
    • Integration frameworks and paradigms i.e. Service Oriented Architectures and Microservices.
