Description of business unit

The Technical domain team are primarily responsible for the development and delivery of new software assets through the SDLC. The team also provide support for the new assets as they enter into and are operated in production.

Working with key providers and delivery partners, the Build (Technical) team bridge the gap between solution architecture, detailed technical design and technical delivery of solutions.

Purpose of the Role

The role exists to enable the banksuccessfully deliver the new integration platform capabilities (Mulesoft, MQ, APIs) into production.

Key Accountabilities

  • Bridging the gap between solution architecture, detailed technical design and technical delivery of solutions on Integration (Mulesoft, MQ, APIs etc.)
  • Act as a technical reference for design, development, testing and deployment knowledge.
  • Be an enabler for internal delivery capability for Bank of Ireland, managing technical delivery through the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Ensure that functional and non-functional quality criteria are documented, understood and adhered to.
  • Develop, engineer and integrate components/patterns from upstream systems and into downstream systems are well understood and thoroughly built and tested.

Essential Qualifications

3rd level qualification in relevant discipline.

Essential Skills & Experience

    • Integration frameworks and paradigms i.e. Service Oriented Architectures and Microservices.
    • Deep knowledge of API, Mulesoft, IBM MQ and other integration software components.
    • Change and technical management on large transformational programmes.
    • Software architecture and development
    • Expert knowledge Software Delivery Methods
    • 10 years in the IT domain with more than5 in specific Architecture and Development management.
