Division Description

Group Manufacturing Division was established in January 2006, and is a key enabler for the development of the Group Operating Model. Group Manufacturing continues to support the Group's priorities in supporting our customers, strengthening capital, improving funding, rigorous management of our asset base and managing costs, with a particular focus on People, Customer, Finance and Risk priorities. Group Manufacturing comprises a number of key business areas: Group Customer Operations, Group Payments, Group Services, IT@BOI, Core Banking Systems Programme, Group Information Security, Business Controls & Assurance and the Integrated Programme Office. These businesses are supported by HR and Finance partners.

Purpose of the Role

Bank of Ireland ChangeZone is a multi-vendor change delivery team running large and complex programmes across both legacy and new IT estates.

Projects often involve significant complexities including regulatory requirements, complex legacy infrastructure, multiple business units, IT security considerations and critical service introduction activity. Understanding both existing and new and emerging technologiesin supporting the Banks change portfolio is key to the success of effective change delivery.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide technology leadership in relevant field, supporting projects and service as required.
  • Act as a trusted reference point for project engagements incorporating business and IT elements as required.
  • Acquire and retain detailed knowledge of BOI'stechnology services/applicationsincluding how they relate with and support business processes and customer journeys.
  • Solve local technology challenges, analysingrequirements and suggesting areas for improvement.
  • Work with business stakeholders to developtechnology requirements in support of the design of new business products, processes, journeys and operating models.
  • Collaborate with Change partners, Architects and Business stakeholders as required to deliver change.
  • Communicate knowledge about thetechnology landscape to interested stakeholders, tailoring presentations to suit different audiences.
  • Work with vendor partners, product owners and support teams to technology implementations are fit for purpose.

Essential Qualifications

Qualification/Accreditation and/or experience in relevant technology field

Essential Skills & Experience

  • At least 3 years technology/technical designexperience in anyof the followingtechnology discplines;
    • Cloud Services (e.g. AWS, Azure)
    • API Development (e.g. Mule)
    • Data Analytics
    • DevOps (Scripting - e.g. Perl, Python)
    • Temenos/T24
    • Database (Oracle, SQL. Mongo DB or similar)
    • Java/Java Script/J2EE
    • Integration (IIB/Broker, MQ)
    • Service Oriented Architecture & Micro Services
    • Distributed Applications (JBOSS)
    • UX
  • Experience in working as part of IT project teams as a technology specialist in Agile and/or Waterfall methodolgies
  • Technology delivery experience within Financial Services or relevant industry
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, work to tight timelines, attention to detail and a tenacity to see things through to completion
  • Self-starter receiving moderate level of guidance and direction.
  • Ability to solve routine or standard problems on own initiative, in a timely and professional manner
  • Bring a passion fortechnology to improve theimplementation of various technologies withinthe organisation supportingthe experience our customers receive

Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Experience on large scale programmes and projects, with financial services background.
