The role holder will work within the Office of the UK Chief Financial Officer, in the area of decision support preparing various MI reports for Retail UK Consumer Banking teams including Post Office and AA relationship views.

The Finance Analyst will be involved in the consolidation of the consumer product and distribution view data provided by Finance Services and various Business Partners across the BOI Group in relation to UK activities. The role holder will be required to work collaboratively with the aforementioned Business Partners, the Financial Controllers and the UK planning and forecasting team.

Purpose of the role:

The role holder will play an integral role within the dynamic UK Finance function and be responsible for the consolidation and production of product and relationship view reports across BOI UK Finance (Consumer Banking, PO and AA relationship reporting). The role holder will need to work collaboratively across the BOIUK Finance function.

Youwill have the opportunity to interact with a broad spectrum of colleagues across the Bank of Ireland Group.

Key responsibilities:

Management reporting

Preparation of various finance reports for the Consumer Banking, AA and PO relationship teams.

  • The consolidation of information from Financial Control, Business Partners and Forecasting teams.
  • Implementing appropriate controls to ensure all data is consistent and accurate.
  • Reconciliation of forecast inputs from various sources into a consolidated UK view.
  • Drafting of papers for the Board and various committees to support effective decision making.
  • Adherence to deadlines at all times.
  • Working with the above teams to ensure that MI is continually optimised and best practices are used.
  • Analysis and identification of key trends in both actual and forecast data.
  • Demonstration of an ability to clearly and concisely summarise large volumes of data for reporting purposes, both actuals and forecast.

  • Ability to cultivate effective working relations with colleagues from varying functional areas to collectively develop and deliver robust solutions for various internal and external stakeholders.

Essential skills & experience:

  • Demonstrated Financial & Analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of technical accounting application and financial statements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • IT skills particularly with regard to data analysis (Excel) & presentation (Powerpoint and Word)

Essential qualifications:

  • Fully Qualified Accountant

Desirable qualifications, skills & experience:

  • Knowledge / experience of Financial Services industry including understanding of the risks associated with finance, regulatory and statutory reporting and tax compliance and the mechanisms for the identification, measurement and mitigation of these risks.
  • Business and finance experience in a finance or support role influencing and informing business decisions in a suitable commercial environment.
